man i hope these judges from the garcia/peterson fight are nowhere near vegas on may 2nd smh
 
For those saying Lamont didn't do anything in the first couple rounds...what exactly did Danny do?

I feel like Lamont employed a perfect boxing strategy.  Tire, frustrate, and outbox Danny..and then crack.  Anyone who's boxed knows that throwing and missing is both tiring and frustrating and Lamont did that to Danny.  That's what allowed Lamont to do what he did in the final rounds.

Not saying I'd do away with it, but this is kind of the problem with the 10-point must system.  Danny Garcia was rewarded for rounds where he didn't necessarily win either.

While he did make Garcia look foolish for throwing wide shots and missing in the first half of the fight, he still did not throw and land enough. Peterson had the right strategy but lacked the offense. Garcia deserved the win tonight. His fight vs Herrera on the other hand was a clear robbery.

Exactly. Being more "aggressive" while you swing and miss for 6 rounds isn't what I would call winning a fight. I need to look at the stats too but I'm sure Lamont out landed Danny in a couple of those early rounds also. Danny didn't win that fight.

Excellent points being brought up in here regarding boxing judging. I thought the Garcia fight was very close and could go either way.

Which is why calling it a robbery just doesn't make sense. All in all yesterday night had some good fights. I like this prime time NBC stuff. Not sure how the ratings are.

Lamont tore Danny's *** up. Man. Perfect gameplan, perfect execution. Just Wish he woulda knocked Danny out
 
I see what you guys are saying. I think Danny is probably gonna lose his next fight. He hasnt looked good. He def shouldnt move up to 147
 
Out boxers are typically penalized in boxing today. There isn't consistency in the ways fights are judged. Ring generalship, lateral movement, controlling distance, slipping punches etc is now called running and some judges are giving dudes credit just for ineffective pressure. I wouldn't call the Garcia fight a robbery, but Lamont landed the cleaner and more effective punches, he controlled distance and fought a very solid fight. I look back at the last few years and the decisions we've seen and judging is a huge problem for boxing.

Didn't really think about it until now but had they not counted the 2nd knockdown for Quillin (clearly stepped on his foot) Andy Lee would have been the winner.

Exactly. It's not running when you're slipping punches and outlanding your opponent. And at the end of the day, any round that you could say Danny "won" was basically a case of ineffective pressure. He was hitting arms shoulders and elbows or just swinging at thin air. Meanwhile in the rounds Lamont won, Danny was clearly getting his *** whipped. They really need to do something about that judging man.

Anyone have the punch stats? Peterson may have been slipping punches early on in the fight, but he certainly didn't out land him cause he wasn't throwing ****. Peterson shouldve thrown more early and he def. would've won. You guys can talk ring generalship and all that, but at the end you gotta throw and land some punches, and peterson didn't do enough of that early on.
