Please Lock.

Was curious what people thought on a few things.....

I was in the gym today. I can't find anyone that likes Amir Khan

Is he MASSIVE in the UK?

If so, does his refusal to fight Brook make him look bad in the eyes of his fellow Brits?

I saw Eddie Hearn saying the Khan/Brook fight wasn't in play right now and talking about Brook possibly beating Khan to Brook.

Similar to the way I said Cotto played the game wrong when it came to fighting Floyd, is Amir doing the same?

Amir is a fantastic boxer. He just doesn't have a chin to save his life.

If he had the chin that Danny Garcia does, he'd be a top P4P fighter.

I don't disagree at all. I know he can box.

I just find it odd that he doesn't have many fans out there. And not for the reason someone like Floyd doesn't.

I'm sure he's big in the UK. But are we talking Hatton level where dudes about to fly to Vegas and drown out the entire arena?

All of that has to be a factor if he's looking for Floyd.

I was actually thinking Garcia rematch after Friday's fight if he's not going to fight Brook. Try to avenge the L.

I'd like to see another Danny/Amir fight.

This new Khan won't beat Swift. The old Khan is better.... He just got caught!

Like I said, I had Khan winning that fight up until he got rocked!

I know Swift hasn't been looking good these last couple fights, but im still a fan of him.

I'd LOVE to see Provodnikov vs. Thurman vs Matthysse

Amir's old style was fun to watch but I think he's a better fighter now. He doesn't look as impressive as he used to but his current style will allow him to protect his chin a little better than before.

I agree, and that's why I want to see him in there against Danny, because I think Danny is fraudulent.

Hell, I'd like to see him fight Lucas again too.

Im told Golden Boy will have an announcement on the TV for Lemieux-N'dam this upcoming week, I assume there will be US TV on June 20 #boxing

Yea, that was also part of Hearn's statement saying that the Khan fight was unlikely.

Only like that because I'm hoping we at least see a US broadcast of that fight.

I wish Al Haymon would do a super six type tournament with his stable of fighters at 140 and 147 with the winner getting a chance to fight Floyd (assuming he doesn't retire yet)

The 168 super six took forever. Floyd isn't going to wait until he's 41 to fight the winner.

Even if the winner doesn't get to fight Floyd the event would be amazing. The Super Six did take time but the 147 division is in the same predicament the 168 division was pre the Super Six. You had a bunch of solid fighters with no clear cut number 1 guy. Bute, Abraham, Froch, Dirrell, Ward, etc were all solid fighters with each claiming the alpha dog status in the division. The tournament fixed all those problems. Assuming Floyd retires in September you have the same problem the 168 division had. Khan, Thurman, Porter, Brook, Broner, Bradley, Garcia, Provonokov, Lucas, etc are all interchangeable with none of those guys really setting themselves apart not to mention the mutual ducking going on by most of the aforementioned fighters in an attempt to get a Mayweather fight.

The best fighter did emerge to the top but (to me) it felt slightly tainted as half the guys withdrew for one reason or another and their replacements didn't anything. I think the most disappointing was Allan Green. I don't think he's had a significant fight since.

The thing that made the super six interesting were the talks of the winner vs Bute afterwards. Hindsight is 20/20 but at that time Bute was top 10 p4p

Yup. But after Froch crushed him all that talk stopped. It was a pretty dope tourney looking back at it, even with the dropouts. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that at 140-147, or even at 126-130 depending on who they can get in there.

Weren't some complaints that Bute wasn't included in the tournament to begin with?

I didnt understand why Bute didn't get on board, he couldve subbed in for one of the guys who dropped out. He attended the fights and the cameras focused on him a lot. He even had a Showtime contract. Maybe there was a good reason he couldn't participate but I dont recall.

Froch is a beast though, he undressed Bute when people were speculating that he needed hometown cooking to win the fight.

That first fight between Bute and Andrade was crazy.

Ref saved that man from taking an L. Never seen anything so blatant by a ref before that fight. :smh:

Bute wanted no parts of the Super Six. People were angry that he chose not to compete and how he would fight the winner of the tournament without having to participate. My tournament idea isn't perfect but most of these guys are basically ducking each other to avoid getting exposed while they wait for a big money fight with Floyd which probably won't happen. Khan is ducking Brook, Brook is ducking Thurman, etc.
