Man. :wow:

I'm not sure. Neither guy can box all that well so I think it turns into a slugfest. And if it does, I don't see how Provodnikov CAN lose. The guy takes punishment as well as anyone P4P.

We used to think Matthyse had an iron chin, but he went down against DSG and then twice against Molina.

I don't think Matthyse can box around Provodnikov for twelve rounds.

That's three days before my girls birthday, gotta make sure I can save time to see it that weekend.

As for GGG, what hasn't been said?

Rosado. Macklin. Stevens. Geale. Murray.

There's only a few guys I'd like to see him fight. David Lemieux is one (He's fight N'Dam, and N'Dam isn't really a guy I'm interested in watching fight, not after seeing what Quillin did to him, and I'm not a fan of Quillin). Andy Lee is another guy I'd like to see him fight. And of course, Miguel Cotto.

And if anyones going to move up/down to fight GGG, I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo or Ward fight him. I don't think Froch would pose very much of a threat to GGG.

That body shot is a thing of beauty. He just eats shots so well, and is willing to compromise his own defense in order to get the offense he wants.

I'd like to see him in there against a real heavy-fisted guy, but there just aren't very many around his division, except himself. Still from everything we've seen (against Murray and against Rosado), his chin seems to be granite.

Provodnikov/Matthysse starting at $25. $75 ringside seats.

:wow:

Damn that's cheap. No reason that place shouldn't be packed.

For that i am thinking about making a trip  should be a great fight

The more and more i read about "experts" picks for Pac-May the more i am convinced of it being another May boring(clinic) 12-round UD. Sorry i know it has its own thread but I don't know how many actual boxing fans post in there. I am assuming its gonna end up a race war in that thread  because this is NT afterall

Where have you been though, everything good with you?
Escaped the Jersey cold and vacationed in Mexico. Otherwise busy work schedule. How things on your end?

That's great bro. Hopefully I'll be heading there soon if this new "situation" works out

Everything else is good on my end, just came back from Vermont a few weeks ago. Other than that work, grind, work, grind as usual.

K9 barking for Cotto.

"Yeah I will punish Cotto. He don't want this work. I will have the junior middleweight belt and will snatch the middleweight belt. This ain't Canelo, this Iron DogG K9!"

I read that as if it was said by Patrice O'Neal as Pit Bull from the Player Haters Ball sketch on Chappelle's Show.

RIP

Funny thing is Cotto is more likely to take that fight than Golovkin. And notice Bundrage isn't saying he could take any of Golovkin's belts.

Post-fight, Murray discussed his belief in GGG's "lack of punching power." It's not the glamorous shots to the head that kill you, but rather the unheralded accumulation of body work.

I'd be curious to know who Murray believes hits harder considering all Golovkin's opponents thus far have all talked about his power.  I believe that Golovkin does have above average power, but I also agree that accumulation plays a big part.

Rosado said Golovkin was powerful at first then later downplayed it saying it was related to "snap" and/or gloves.

The Curtis Stevens gif is all anyone needs to know.

That reminds me, what happened to those sensors that will go in gloves to measure the speed, force, etc of punches? I remember they said they were going to test them in the Khan vs Maidana fight then I forgot all about them.

Right..

That body punch in R4 was from an accumulation of body work. Get outta here Murray.

The guy has as much more punching power than anyone in his division.

I think they're using that on the next BKB card?

Just caught GGG-Murray

Murray has a ton of heart. Lots of dudes get beat and half-heartedly tell their corner/the ref not to stop it. Like you can tell they want the fight to be over but they don't want to be the ones to make that decision. Murray was adamant about the ref not stopping it. He kept throwing with a purpose all fight. GGG was just too good. Kept his distance and didn't let Murray clinch at all after the 2nd round or so. Completely changed the fight.

In my eyes, this is Murray's first career loss. Maravilla was gifted a decision in Argentina.

Rubio is a prime example of what you're speaking to. Felt a glimpse of GGG's power, and decided to fold and collect a paycheck. Besides constantly advancing forward and applying pressure, Golovkin works the body consistently and that really takes the wind out of opposing fighters' sails. Not just their gas tanks, but a willingness to continue absorbing that type of physical punishment and pain. It doesn't help that GGG has a chin of his own and almost shrugs off opponents' power punches.

Murray should shut it and play up GGG's power, that makes him look better wouldnt u think?

He's probably saying that because he believes that he could've continued in the fight. Anyone who watched the fight is convinced that he has heart he doesn't need to go out of his way to prove it.

Whether it is one punch KO power or an accumulation of damage combined with above average power, Murray was collapsing on the ropes when the ref called it.

And nobody else has done to Murray what Golovkin did.
