Always good to know the fight is going to happen but when you see the fight poster and the confirmations! Roach said on a media call that this fight could very well be one of the best of all time and I can see that.

Pumped for this fight. Cotto should be the slight underdog but I'm pullin for him. He has the experience fighting the top tier fighters, the better footwork and he might have a slight edge in stamina over the hungrier and younger Canelo. It's going to be another Puerto Rico vs Mexico epic war. I won't be surprised if it ends in a TKO.

Interview with Floyd :

Floyd began by stating that what the general public doesn't know is that his uncle, and former lead trainer, Roger Mayweather has lost a lot of his memory - something he attributes to Roger's boxing career. He says although Roger is only in his 50s, he already seems like a man in his 80s who is fading fast. Floyd goes on to say that he dearly loves his uncle and it hurts him to see Roger's health deteriorating to the point where Roger no longer even recognizes him. Having lost my own grandmother to a long bout with Alzheimer's disease, this really hit home for me - particularly since I can sympathize with the pain of seeing a close loved one look at you like a total stranger.

Damn :smh:

That's why Floyd takes so much pride in not taking any punishment. No amount of money is worth your health and well being.

Yeah makes sense. And I've been noticing that it already seems like Floyd already talks a little slower and stutters a little more than he used to. Especially crazy considering he's known for not taking alot of punishment.

floyd always had bad speech habits, roy jones and bernard hopkins speak perfectly fine

Floyd seems like he's just always trying to say the "right" thing. He's always playing some sort of role with the media. Like he doesn't just talk. I think that's what slows him down more than anything.

Still, I think people underrate how much punishment these guys take during training camp. Floyd has the confidence to fight that defense first style because he basically brawls while sparring - lets him know he can handle anything if his defense fails him. Headgear can only do so much when you're sparring 100 rounds before every fight
