For a third time, Omaha will host a world title fight for its hometown hero.

Reigning WBO junior welterweight champion Terence "Bud" Crawford is set to take on Dierry "Dougy Style" Jean on Oct. 24 at CenturyLink Center Omaha, boxing promotion company Top Rank announced Thursday.

The fighters will hold a joint press conference Monday at CenturyLink Center to officially announce the fight. The 1 p.m. event will be open to the public.

Crawford, who earlier this year earned a sixth-round technical knockout victory over Thomas Dulorme in Arlington, Texas, is 26-0 with 18 knockouts in his career.

The 2014 Boxing Writers Association of America Fighter of the Year, Crawford will be making the first defense of his WBO junior welterweight title.

Jean (29-1, 20 KOs), a Haitian boxer fighting out of Montréal, Québec, returns to the ring riding a four-bout winning streak — three by knockout — since losing a 12-round decision to world champ Lamont Peterson last year.

The fight featuring Crawford, the No. 35 athlete in the Nebraska 100, adds to an already busy weekend in the area.

a win over pac does that instantaneously which I think he can do in convincing fashion. he is a really smart fighter with how he goes about setting things up I look forward to his fights.
