Still :smh:at a fight on Basic Cable.
Ruins the whole experience whether NBC ESPN or BET.

HBO/Showtime or nothing.

Ward fought at home, @ the Oracle, on BET, with a free Nipsey concert.

323,000 viewers
Not a good look. I was looking at cable ratings today looking for the numbers.

I will say, not too many people knew the fight was on BET. That's pretty good numbers considering it was his 1st fight back against a nobody and it was on BET

I was thinking the same thing.

And how many viewers was a free Nipsey concert supposed to draw exactly?

 exactly.

Dudes tend to forget things like this:
"In what has to be interpreted as terrible news for Top Rank and WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs), his fight against Chris Algieri (20-1, 8 KOs) last month brought in just over 300,000 pay-per-view buys, according to boxing businessman Rick Glaser"

Pac vs Algeri had 300,000 PPV BUYS!

Ward covered that & some on BET.

Also on TWC the fight was to be shown at 10pm but it was not on (some hood flick was on)..I missed the fight so idk if it came on or not

Broner lost even with the knockdown.
laugh.gif
He will continue too lose...

Call me crazy but I think there may be a slight difference between

300K x $59.99 USD

and

323K x BET

What do I know tho

Broner is going to use that gun

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but that's PPV BUYS, the Ward fight was 300k VIEWS. If that Ward fight was on PPV, I could imagine only being 3000 buys while if the Pacquiao vs Algieri fight was free, 3 million VIEWS. It's not looking good for Ward. He has to market himself better with his team.

Also, I don't think many Whites, Asians, and Hispanics watch BET.

It's not looking good for Ward? He just had 300K views for a fight that had minimal promotion along with the fact some cable providers screwed up the time on their end.

3m views for Pac vs Algieri if it was free  .. always caping for your boy huh

Oh yea you sound ridiculous, not surprising coming from you tho, "I don't think many Asians, Whites, and Hispanics watch BET" :smh:

^ That was just my opinion, I think it's more realistic. You sounded more ridiculous comparing PPV BUYS to VIEWS which shows you don't truly know much of the business side of boxing. Of course you will have more views because it's FREE! If it's on PPV, you will likely have viewers who will watch it at other peoples houses, or worst, probably free stream it on the internet.

Ward defeated some of the top guys already, Froch, Chad Dawson, Kessler, etc, and is already 31, and probably around the top of his prime. 300k for free views isn't a good look, especially if you got other boxers getting a million viewers on cable TV such as Dirrell vs DeGale (1.4 million viewers).

Dirrell vs DeGale was on NBC!!! That's standard TV not Cable. What the hell are you talkin' about? :smh:

I just gave you the exact reasons why Ward had 300K VIEWS and you still grasping for straws with your usual non-sense.

You've been on a hiatus from this thread since your boy Pac took that L.

How about you go back to the race threads and cape for Team SWS :smh:

I think we're over analyzing this.

I watch BET and it's sister networks.

The promotion for this event was HORRENDOUS IMO.

I wouldn't have even known about it if it wasn't for this thread and if I wasn't on sites for coverage of the other fights that weekend.

BET isn't a destination for Boxing. Roc Nation isn't established either. Both are figuring it out on the fly.

PBC on the other hand are doing a great job promoting their cards.

Ward just needs to be more active and he'll be fine. As great as he is, guys like Broner, Garcia etc. are more marketable just because they're more visible.

I've been talking here. You can click and check all my posts, I talked about Nicholas Walters, Deontay Wilder, Crawford, etc. Where did the Pacquiao subject come from? You're just trying to bring up new sources of argument because you were less logical with your post than I was that you had to cross the first part of my post. I was only referring to VIEWS and BUYS. You seem bitter man. Okay, so Degale vs Dirrell was on NBC. What about Josesito Lopez vs Andre Berto? It was on Spike TV I think, and getting close to a million views. I'm saying it's not looking good for Ward at this point. Ward's last fight vs Edwin was around 1 million and it was on HBO, so this is a step down. Ward's my hometown dude to, it's not like I'm talking crap to the man. You need to calm down.

personally don't think BET is a good channel to have fights but they don't have too many choices cause PBC locking up every other network

it's hard keeping up with all these fights anyway....one day I randomly flipped by nbcsn and a fight was live at 4pm on a saturday
