Please Lock.

I never understand why Boxers can't do their "Shoutouts" after the interview.

"First off I'd like to thank God, and and and and (1 minute 59 seconds later) what was the question again"

One thing Wilder has that boxing in the Heavyweight division has been missing is personality.

As I said before, for the sake of Boxing...I'm happy as hell right now. Deontay is a likeable dude, man...

He STILL needs to make improvements though.

Keep him away from Wlad. On the business tip, his next fight should be on NBC...let Haymon make him a star.

He is more disciplined and boxes better than he's shown us in the past. Props to Deontay Wilder. Klitschko might be reaching father time, so it will be interesting if they fight in the next year or two.

Maybe Wilder can employ some clinching strategy and steal rounds en route to a decision win? If its going to be a barn burner, I would favor Stiverne.

I must be the only one who thought this fight could possibly end in Wilder by decision. too bad I didn't bet on it, think it was like +1000 for this proposition. :smh:

Im pissed that i missed the fight. Was stuck grillin fajitas for me and my girl. Lenny bayless was the ref? Man **** bayless. Tony weeks is the ****.

Stiverne's strategy was puzzling. Not enough body work, didn't pop the jab or cut off the ring, and was purely searching for the big left hook.

Bayless was ref for the Santa Cruz fight, subject of some clamoring for early stoppage.

Weeks was ref for Wilder/Stiverne.

After thinking about it, I think this fight might've been fixed. Stiverne came in just to go the distance hence why he had the high guard up all night and stopped attacking when he rocked Wilder. After all you have Don King and the odds for Wilder by decision was +1000, the over 7.5 rounds +200.

Anything is possible but I'm not getting my *** whipped like that if I'm getting paid to lose. Stiverne didn't go down all night and ate BOMBS, he could've gone down multiple times and saved himself some brain damage. I think Stiverne just fought poorly and Wilder fought the best he ever has. Who knows though. If he did throw it I hope he got big millions because those right hands might've took functional years off his life.

Outside the realm of possibility? Absolutely.

Not.

I kid you not I had this exact same thought this morning. Anything involving Don King I don't trust. Stiverne was also very public about not liking his purse for this fight.

In a perfect world, the champion wouldn't be making $90K less than the American challenger.

Imam made $5K less than Maldonado, Jr. $45K was his purse. He's not ready for "Bud," the power is there and real for 140 but I still don't like Imam's movement. Crawford would pick the 24-year-old apart if he remains that stationary.

It seems a bit far fetched to me that the fight could have been fixed. Stiverne was throwing KO punches throughout the fight and landed a good one here and there. How would he know those punches wouldn't KO Wilder?

This is the same guy who struggled against Ray Austin.

My theory is that they were both in on the act. They had to make the fight look realistic after the backlash from Wilder-Scott. Don King knows he doesn't have much clout anymore, and even if Stiverne won last night nobody cares about Stiverne vs Klitschko. Wilder winning the WBC belt changes the Heavyweight division fundamentally and creates more interesting match ups. After Floyd hangs it up, Wilder vs Klitschko will be the biggest fight to be made. So I believe King used Stiverne as a sacrificial lamb to form a partnership with Al Haymon.

Wow that was a good fight very happy we finally have the heavyweight title back here in USA. I hope this brings back the heavyweight division even if it grows slowly.
