Please Lock.

Even with the sanction fees to pay, it's still pennies to him.

The irony being the amount of money he pays the people he hangs out with just to be around.

With that being said, odds are he just didn't care about the IBF title. I can't blame him, I wouldn't either in his position.

Because Floyd wanted the easy route to retirement. He didn't want to give the fans what they want, and instead fought a subpar washed up easy opponent like Berto Still a top 12-15 ranked boxer doe. Even with the sanction fees to pay, it's still pennies to him. There's actually 5 different belts, WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, and The Ring. Technically not really considered "leagues".
What more did u want out of Floyd?

there really is no pleasing anyone when talking about floyds career... the berto fight didnt matter he could of fought anyone of the good welterweights 1 time, porter, brook etc and won but still would get hate regardless...the hate is so strong that they want floyd to lose and when he wins its disappointing... his style is still not accepted because he plays defense all the time making the fight look boring but rather easy and then come up with the same excuse well he fought a bum and not this 1 boxer... then when that 1 boxer fights him whos good like PAC they still find something to complain about... i dont blame floyd for wanting to retire really

So then why did floyd fight berto out of all the other well deserved fighters?

You sound like you wana iron the mans boxers and put the toothpaste on his toothbrush

your missing my point :smh: even if floyd fought one of those guys who are really good and win he wouldnt get the credit anyway... its a no win situation who he beats regardless... so him picking berto didnt matter because if he wins the hate is still there...when he beat PAC they said PAC shoulder was hurt and the fight was 5 years too late but these same people complaining desperately wanted the fight to happen

agreed

i just don't get why people get mad at floyd for EVERYTHING

"he cherry picks fights" - but didn't Manny pick Algeri ? - manny could have fought Danny Swift, Thurman, Porter, Khan all before Algeri, but he chose him

Floyd is not entertaining, so why do the haters still tune in and get mad, or expect him to change from what he has down for 20 years - besides (Gatti, cotto, and diego fights)

Ok........yall honestley beleive floyd cares about the sport? If so- given that he is the self acclaimed "tbe" he will beat anyone and if he cares about the sport he knew all eyes would be on this last fight- so why not choose one of these young dudes that are up and comming and makin some noise to us boxing fans.

Even floyd stans were dissapointed wit him choosing berto.

If he would have chosen someone like thurman, spence, crawford(who was fighte ofthe year) or brook i would have been content if floyd still won fighting one of then.

Hell, i would have been more excited if he gave ortiz a rematch

why didn't you have the same outburst when Pac fought Algeri
or when Danny Garcia fought Paulie Malignaggi & Rod Salka

i just dont get it really... floyd wins the PAC fight then gets asked after the fight why didnt you fight him 5 years ago? if these 2 were in the prime it would of been a better fight gets said all the time... but the fight HAD to happen immediately for the fans even though it was 5 years too late... to be honest im glad floyd is retiring im a fan of his but i just want boxing to move on... his career was never accepted so now lets see who the next great pay per view star is and they can shine...

Isn't Floyd Spence's promoter?

**** you know what you might be right.

Pendejo, you know me or something? Aint we talkin about floyd?

i'm saying Pac DID cherry pick algeri , compared to who he could have fought

OK. and your point is?? You cant compare who he cherry once to fans constanlly bein mad at floyd for choosing easy fights most of the time.

Yeah, theres some notable fights that he didnt ouck

Floyd was always going to fight either Berto or Mayfield he wasn't giving Khan any money...

Ur buggin

floyd fought the same guys as PAC DLH, cotto, hatton, mosley and marquez but yet he cherry picked? where is the double standard? Floyd fights champions, guys that were undefeated and fighter that were much younger than him... so Floyd fighting canelo was cherry picked too...he also beat guys in their natural weight class like de la hoya and cotto exception for canelo which was a catchweight and those guys were dangerous at their natural weight... he didnt fight majority of the big fights at a catchweight like some people

if you don't see my point, then i feel sorry for you

i legit heard a critic or writer say , they would like for floyd to lose so he could face adversity and then come back

i knew then the floyd BOXING hate was absurd ... like did you wish the same for Rocky Marciano

No point in debating with people when it comes to Floyd... dudes want to discredit his career so badly, they will say anything. If Floyd didn't fight Canelo, Maidana, Guerrero, or even Ortiz. Dude's would've said he ducked them. If he fought all the fighters that people claimed he ducked, but didn't fight the one's I named. It will be the same thing. It's a recurring argument. I knew it was deeper than boxing when someone told me " who cares if Pac might be on steroids, if Floyd is the best, he'll fight him anyway." :x

Can it be that Floyd's skill made those fights look easy?

Imagine the outrage if Floyd would've fought Algeri.

I don't know much about boxing...but to my knowledge (and correct me if I'm wrong)

-There's 4 boxing "leagues" or whatever you call it
-Mayweather had 3/4 welterweight title belts for 3/4 of those leagues (until he was stripped of one)
-Kell Brooke is currently the IBF welterweight champion

Why didn't Floyd go after the IBF belt to have all 4??
Because Brook is not worth the risk.

The only way for Floyd to turn that into a lucrative fight, would be for him to fight Brook at the Wembly, and he's not going to do that.
