Sucks to end the fight via TKO by ref, but it was understandable and necessary. For both main and co main, can't risk head injuries.

Bring on Cotto vs Canelo, hope they don't duck GGG.

You could argue the fight could continue, but it was enfolding soon. That last body shot before the stoppage had him reeling.
 
GGG proved that he isn't just a slugger, he was jabbing effectively and his defense was better than usual. He was boxing tonight. Full on display tonight.
 
GGG is the real deal and fought a good fight but still think it was too early to be stopped... i want to see him fight ward before i can say hes the best pound for pound though

Golovkin is something else. If Lemieux didn't want the ref to stop it he shouldn't have looked at him for a way out after taking that body shot. It's like he wanted to take a knee and then thought oh maybe the ref will step in lol. Total destruction by GGG. Cotto is one of my top favorite fighters of all time but there's no way I'd throw him to Golovkin. It would be Margarito vs Cotto 1 but on steroids.

Pretty much exactly what Kovalev did with the Hopkins fight.

Lemieux can moan all he wants, but that look at the ref after the last body shot looked for a cry for help. Golovkin landed another headshot and the ref stepped in. Lemieux is still young and should be thankful it didn't last longer or his career could end a lot sooner. He ate a lot of punches.

Good stoppage I thought. GGG landed like 200+ punches after only a few rounds. Accurate punches. That's brain damage land.

Max Kellerman, but he didn't refer to him as a challenge, just comparing who between the three of Ward, Roman Gonzalex and GGG who GGG thinks should be #1 P4P after Floyd is retired, and he said that #1 spot is just vacant and to give it time.

Hopefully GGG critics can finally give the man some credit and admit he's good.

Lemieux put up a good fight though. Didn't have an issue with the stoppage, Lemieux's face after that body shot said enough. Hopefully, Canelo or Cotto is next :nerd:.
 
It's amazing how GGG made Lemieux look so average. A guy whom was also deemed with heavy punching power and a knockout puncher who barely dented up hurt him. Showed how different of a class both are in.
 
GGG's jab is just too much. It's damn near a power punch.

I'm100% ok with the stoppage. There are guys who have good chins that take beatings better than others who don't have good chins. The physical punishment is the same though.
 
Prichard Colon is in the hospital in a coma, he's suffering from brain bleeding. Prayers.

This is why I can't blame refs who stop fights earlier than anticipated anymore. So good stoppage for both main and co main event fights tonight.

I still think David Lemieux is a good boxer and can ice Miguel Cotto, and maybe give Canelo a good run with his money and also ice Peter Qullen and Andy Lee and maybe the Charlo Brothers as well as Andrade if they move up or Lemieux move down.
