HipHop: Certified Top 12 Albums of 2014

I'll have to give that Atmosphere a listen. I've liked their last few projects.

 @Sandman > Gibbs  & Madlib.

Or you could just not be a fan. Don't wanna force my opinion down your throat.:lol:

I need to listen to all those albums on your list that I missed. I could come up with a top list, but I'm sure it'd change. PRhyme is pretty much all I'm listening to right now, though. Really liked Oxymoron, too (just to bring up an album that didn't make your list that would probably make mine right now). That's for when I want to shut off my brain and be ignorant.:lol:

Side note: I need to see more Adrian Younge in 2015. Dude has what it takes to change hip hop and sampling.

Yep. He can have an impact like Kanye on the boards. I didn't know about the PRhyme beats until after I heard the album. That joint with Ghost has a lot crazy beats on it for sure.

Dude forgot Madlib too.

Anyway, A-Villa's "Carry On Tradition" joint and Cormega & Large Professor's project, "Mega Philosophy" deserve to be on the list.  Matter of fact, you left off a few albums.

I didn't leave any off. I listened to them all and these were the best to me. Mega's was too preachy with lackluster flow. The old Mega is one of my fav rappers.

You listen to planet asia's latest album?

Yeah, with TzariZM, Via Satellite.  It should've made the list in my opinion.  Same with at least two or three out of  Rapsody's last project, Lord Steppington, Pharoahe Monch's PTSD, and Dilated Peoples, Directors of Photography.

I admit I missed that one. I didn't like Step Brothers too much. Monch & Dilated were both right outside the 12, for me.

That's another one I missed. I was going over the tracklist. Love how it's a concept album with artists playing roles in the story and not just a bunch of random features. Pretty dope idea.

yea well 36 Seasons is pretty much a concept album too. My fav concept album might be Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer

My favorite concept album, too. Disposable Arts is right up there with it on my list.:pimp:

Prince Paul - A Prince Among Thieves is one of my favorite concept albums.

Word. I remember bumpin' that on my way down to the Jersey Shore back when it dropped. Straight crack. Disposable Arts is my **** too. Bumped that a million times. Ace is a personal fav of mine and he's an Eagles which I'm sure u hate about him.

Every time I see or hear an Eagles reference I almost shut him off/unfollow him on social media.:lol:

Definitely one of my favorite artists, though. Block Episode is such an amazing song.
