GOAT War Movie? BHD appreciation

As far as raw authenticity, Tropic Thunder is unmatched. I felt like I was actually on the battlefield taking on the vietcong with Robert Downey Jr in blackface.

By FAR the best

Love this movie. Fury was also great, like Brad Pitt's charactor from Inglorious Basterds in an alternate universe or something

Saving Private Ryan and BHD of course.

By the looks of the trailer goat war movie fittna be merican sniper.

Or does the story of a soilder not apply.

Saving private Ryan will always be at the top of my list. Depicts war and what war turns people into incredibly well. Remember Tom Hanks character was an English teacher before he enlisted.

I also the think The Patriot is very underrated.

Also not a movie, but worthy of a mention, is Generation Kill.

generation kill and the Pacific were both great. The Pacific was just so much more brutal than BOB, European theatre was much more romanticized than the Pacific. The Pacific was hard to watch at times.

I read a while ago that hanks and them were going to do a ww2 air corps miniseries but I'm not sure of its status, but I'm sure it would be excellent like the others.

Also, read that hbo just ordered a Vietnam miniseries based on the book the thin grey line. I'm really looking forward to this, whenever it happens.

Red Tails felt very cliché and generic, could have been great with the cast they had. An Pearl Harbor felt like a fabricated love-story rather than an actual war film, special effects and battles looked great though was entertaining.

Watched Fury last night....holy ****! Movie was absolutely EPIC. 10/10 in my book.

SPR
Braveheart
Glory

BHD is very good but didn't stick with me as much

Need to rewatch Apocalypse Now

BOB was great though as others have mentioned

I enjoyed Inglorious Basterds a lot but don't view it in the same category
