NFL/NCAA FEET & GEAR: '15-'16 SEASONS FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT/CLEATS/GLOVES/JERSEYS ETC.

I doubt this is common enough to matter, but I tore my Achilles in the untouchables the other night. Was almost impossible to get the shoe off, I figured they were just going to cut it.

Never had a major injury before so I started wondering if the shoes could have caused it, but I think that's me just searching for blame when there isn't any.

Man that sounds brutal, best of luck in your recovery. Hope the Untouchables had nothing to do with the injury.

Bro its the Untouchables

I have been saying this on and on since the Rose Bowl that the untouchables are causing injuries on all levels of football

Deangelo Hall had a leg injury on HBO Hard Knocks and people thought he just got broke on a move real bad when actually he lost his footing

Devon Allen that plays for Oregon and runs track tore up his knee in the opening kick off return in the Rose Bowl and he was wearing the untouchables

Last week I wore my Oregon untouchables and the back around the Achilles fells very weird like awkward...

I thought nothing of it like maybe they needed to be broke in so I just kept playing...

After about 45 mins I went out for a deep pass and my leg kinda buckled from making a cut! I knew immediately the cleats was not meant for me so I switched to my Oregon Vapors from this year

I have seen numerous players go down and they all have one thing in common... Untouchables

because the cleat is so tight but flimsy like a sock it really has no support

and the toe area is rounded and weird so its hard to get grip but when it does get grip it feels like its getting too much grip almost like your wearing 3/4 detachable cleats for thick grass or the rain

its sad because the actual cleat is beautiful but is horrible for use

i find my favorite go to cleats are easily these..... comfortable not too tight.... and feel very light!

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I figured if it were that prevalent then players would stop wearing them but we haven't seen that. They always felt really comfy to me.

These things tend to happen out of the blue - Foster, Steve Smith and Cam Wake all tore theirs this year and none were wearing untouchables.

Rehab is gonna be tough but just gonna attack it hard and hope to come back strong. Thanks for the well wishes.

How do those feel in comparison to the talons?

Maybe it is because they fit a little bit bigger then I want them to be but I have felt slippage around the Achilles in the Untouchables. Played in a all day flag tourney and had matching half dollar size blisters on the back on my feet. I love the fit and lock down but around the back of the shoe you can feel slippage.

That being said...despite your excellent breakdown, PleaseSay I don't know if I can blame injuries on the Untouchables. To hard to call on that one.

My go to cleats are still the VCElite2014 and the OG Zoom Air Carbons with the OG's being my GOAT cleat. Once broken in you forget you are even wearing cleats.

@jayli get better, family! Minor set back for a major comeback.

Im sure there are other factors outside of just the Untouchables but I do think they add on to it

@jayli get better bro! But I have seen a lot of guys change from the untouchables as the season went on

Dalvin Cook wore the untouchables when they 1st dropped for the Rose Bowl

Thanks fam. Surgery scheduled for tomorrow. Already can't wait until the stitches come out and I can attack rehab like a beast. Will come back from this stronger and better!

For my money, the Vapor Jet 4.2s are prob still my fav cleat in terms of performance and comfort.

funny you say that about the 4.2s

I seen the Honey Badger wearing 4.2s for a couple games this season

Joe Haden bring out old cleats every once in a while too. Joe had on the speed TDs from like 2005/2006

Lunden Lunden you are correct. Oregon 33 uniform template. Not sure if they are just wearing this for the Civil War game coming up or this will be their new template moving forward.

Yeah you are right. Maybe just a new template for the Civil War game then.

I randomly noticed that the Oregon Field General 2's are up on Nike.com. Still $170 but I'll wait till they go on discount.

Oregon had its surplus sale this past weekend to make room for the Marcus Mariota Facility so they got rid of a lot of stuff

a BUNCH of this years cleats was in the sale

unfortunately the 1st couple guys in the line bought EVERYTHING worth getting and now they have it all on ebay :smh:

oh and they DID NOT have the Rose Bowl untouchables in the sale so im happy I was able to grab a pair earlier in the year

I was wondering if all cleat hauls from the surplus sale would make it in here. Some good stuff on the 'Bay but unfortunately nothing in my size.

Lunden Lunden

Varies from cleat to cleat but 8.5-9.5

BTW...Thank you for clarifying - I wondered why Oregon was having a surplus sale when traditionally it is in the summer but making room for MM8's new facility cleared that up.

The Final Four schools will all get updated Mach Speed Uniforms and be wearing Nike Vapor 4.0 gloves.

Vapor Untouchables have been the best looking and best performing skill cleat I've owned since the OG Carbon Vapors. Lockdown is amazing, weight of the shoe is very good, and the traction I get with it is second to none. Haven't had any of the Achilles rubbing or discomfort some have reported, and I actually sized half a size down on my two pairs for a super exact fit. Saw those grey/dark green Oregon Untouchables on eBay, but can't see myself paying $280+ for them since I don't ball as much as I used to; just the gym, random games at the park and annual 7 on 7 tourneys. I recall a guy at a collegiate combine (can't remember school) on NFL Network last spring rocking a low-cut pair of Untouchables though. Any info on those?

That was a combine specific cleat. Never released to the public.
I saw that Nike officially introduced the Untouchable II today. I wonder if it will only be a Sz. 9 and up.

Yea, the new nike uniforms don't have seams on the front and they have less panels making them about 4 ounces lighter.

Oregon has been wearing the new jersey style for last few games if im not mistaken

here is a new pic

not a fan of the new number font

the current number font for Oregon was :smokin

I see they kept the wings on the jerseys but looks like they tossed them on the helmet :smh:

for the past 10 years Oregon has been ahead of the game when it came to the helmets

being the 1st to have multiple helmets in one season also matte, chrome, glitter, and multi color helmets.

now it seems like they have run out of ideas instead of constantly innovating and being ahead
