Power comes from the automaker's 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 – the same eight-pot that powers the RC F – good for 467 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 389 pound-feet of torque that comes on strong between 4,800 and 5,600 rpm. That force is sent to the rear wheels via Lexus' eight-speed automatic transmission.

In order to make this F a significantly better-handling vehicle than the standard GS, Lexus is fitting its Torque Vectoring Differential from the RC F, which uses three modes – Standard, Slalom, and Track – to alter torque delivery to better suit different driving dynamics. Lexus has released a few preliminary specifications about the GS F, so we know the sedan tips the scales at 4,034 pounds and will ride on 19-inch wheels with 255/35-series tires up front, and 275/35 rubber out back.

Got to say, those numbers are a bit disappointing though. :\

I really hope they don't plan on putting a price tag any higher than 65K on this. So much is borrowed from the RC-F it seems like the GS-F is just the sedan version.

I don't think that is necessarily the worst thing in the world.

I'm just not happy with those numbers considering the CTS-V will be churning out 600+ HP. BMW and MB already had the M5 with it's 560HP and the E63 with 550HP. Lexus needs to put a turbo on their V8 and at least match those numbers with the added weight n the GSF.

I can only imagine the price tag. I bet Lexus puts a price tag greater than 65k on that. Fully decked out Gs350s are almost that price.

Price definitely got to be lower but maybe not in the $65k realm. The M5 and E63 starts at $93k so Lexus got some room to play there. At about $70k-$75k, I think it can work well for the power they have to offer, that is still a good $20k-$25k below BMW and MB and chances are Lexus will have more standard features so they'll sway buyers that way.

Those hideous Lexus grill's immediately turn me off from everything they have and nothing's changed here :x

the RC and the GS is prob the only lexus id buy glad to see a GS F finally it looks good :pimp:
but wow its way down on power guess we gotta wait and see comparisons

 if you think it wont be higher than 65k i say 70k at the lowest

Wishful thinking on my part, but I just don't think anyone will be able to justify spending upwards of 70k to get those specs when you can get a hell of a lot more for just another 10K.

The RC-F starts at 62k... I dont think the addition of two doors and a little leg room is worth 70k.

What other cars in this segment are in the $80k range? 6Series Gran Coupe? It is under-powered in comparison with 315HP and starting at $78k and it really is kind of it's own genre.

The more I think about it, the GSF seems to aim more at the S6 which starts at $75k than the M, AMG or RS counterparts? Maybe the 550i as well instead o the M5 and so on...?

I think you also have to look past the part where this is just a 4-door RCF. In some ways that is true but that isn't the full story. That's like saying the M5 is just the M4 with 4 doors, not really, it is more like the 3 is the sedan and 4 is the coupe just liek IS is the sedan and RC is the coupe. Again I know they share the same things between cars but that isn't really something new between brands/companies.

GS-F is the equivalent of a M5 and a E63 AMG

both of which prob dumps on it tho

Power-wise and likely price-wise, just doesn't seem like it.

wut

the m5 n the e63 literally has 100 more hp

price wise maybe not

Huh?

That is why I said power-wise, it isn't equivalent. You said it is.

Same with price, likely.

I am not saying the GSF is better or more powerful, I am saying it is below the M and AMG, way below (in terms of both power and likely price).

No thanks. Overpriced, ugly interior, and most importantly (iirc) it doesn't come in stick.

they should scrap this just like that infiniti gtr sedan. it just doesn't make sense from a price standpoint. the rc-f starts at 62 so this will obviously start in the 70+ range. the specs would put this in the league of the srt charger, cts v-sport, and the bi turbo v8s from the germans, not even the amg or m models.

I think it's dope. If it undercuts the Germans by a decent amount, I would buy one. I prefer a reliable, good sounding NA v8 that I could keep for years trouble free.
