Official Ant-Man Movie Thread

Probably the most cringeworthy MCU trailers I've ever seen. Jokes are so :x

:smh: Aztec warrior as himself him this movie.

I just think the concept of Antman is lame. Only sting when you're small? Ant manipulation? :x

I'm also hopeful and Marvel always has my money already but damn, why they go to make these kind of trailers. After a very underwhelming first trailer, they made it up with the second one and got people hyped then this one comes out where I just want to stab my ears. I mean I am huge Paul Rudd fan too and I'd almost always see his movies if I can and I hope this becomes like GotG.

Comic relief in an action movie is fine. It's only a problem if it's bad.

Imagine GotG without humor

The humor in IM1 helped make it enjoyable

I know a lot of ppl will disagree with me, but I thought A1 was really funny especially during first viewing

Humor has been working with Marvel, just can't get lazy with the punch lines and give us a billion bad puns

went to see San Andreas and this preview came on, im looking like :x by the time its over

wth is this :smh: looks mad weak

I thought we wasnt doing individual comic book threads :smh:

Bruh, I remember the Avengers seemed lame to me. They had to make them crossover in X-Men comics just to generate some buzz from time to time. I even remember the Iron Man cartoon and that **** was boring af. I was like, ok so this dude has a heart problem and wears a high tech knight suit. So ******* what. I'm gonna go shoot some hoops. But when that X-Men theme came on, you couldn't move me from my seat.

Every single word of this is fact. Every single word. Odd seeing the complete 180 when it comes to the movies :smh:

I guess non comic readers didn't know that only a small piece of Groot could be planted and he would come back.

Didnt seem to me like the Guardians knew that in the movie either

Except for Rocket.

Maybe my memories playing tricks on me but it feels like they pushed a lot harder with GotG and with Ant Man they kinda been coasting.

It feels like they linking to Avengers now just because they just realized there is no hype

I'm not just talking about name dropping the Avengers, but just the amount of promotional content GotG put out, ie. Talk show appearances, touring, how often we'd see a trailer, etc. Seems like with Ant Man in general they've just been quiet about the movie overall, and only just now making a push down the stretch

First reactions via twitter, what I am getting from it s the movie is mediocre but the mid/end credit scenes sounds like a must see.

Jeremy Smith @mrbeaks
It takes ANT-MAN a moment to get cranked up, but once it does, it’s sensational. My favorite third-act of any Marvel movie.

Germain Lussier @GermainLussier
Two Ant-Man credits scenes, each better than the last.

Ant-Man is more methodical than most Marvel movies but it’s hilarious & a totally great ride. So many fun MCU links too. Another winner.

Jack Giroux @JackGi
Ant-Man isn't just great entertainment, it's also a great movie. Marvel's most human film to date. Fantastic.

Ant-Man ties into the MCU without using any tangents. Almost all buildup, but that's a part of the fun with heist films. Great script.

Mike Sampson @mjsamps
Sadly ‘Ant-Man’ falls flat in almost every way. Doesn’t seem like it’s sure of what it wants to be. Not so much bad as it is blah.

ANT-MAN is good. Not a disaster like some expected but also not a homerun. Has a *must see* after the end credits scene.

gregoryellwood @HitFixGregory
Ant Man is great. Way better than Age of Ultron. @edgarwright deserves co-director credit. Feels like his movie.

Courtney Howard @Lulamaybelle
#AntMan: Mostly boring with lots of exposition, daddy issues and a splash of wit. Oh! And Paul Rudd's abs. #FemaleGaze

John Boone [emoji]10004[/emoji]@jtyboone
Guys, don't worry. #AntMan is good. Like, goooooood. Also, it's the weirdest Marvel movie yet. Weirder than "Guardians of the Galaxy" even.

Kyle Buchanan [emoji]10004[/emoji]@kylebuchanan
Recent Marvel credit scenes have been kind of minor, but ANT-MAN has two (mid-credits and at the very end) that, unlike its hero, are huge.

Honestly AOU was garbage in retrospect, I have a feeling Altman can at least be better.

Mid-End Credit scene descriptions for AntMan to those who can't wait or don't care (please spoiler when discussing, I tried my best to copy and paste this w/o reading  )

SPOILER

Mid

Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) gives the WASP costume with wings to Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). Hank explains to Hope what happened to Hope's mother Janet Van Dyne.

Final credits scene:

This one leads into Captain America: Civil War.

The scene has Captain America, The Falcon, and The Winter Soldier. Cap and Falcon have located The Winter Soldier to a remote location where The Winter Soldier is tied up.

Falcon asks Cap "Should I call Stark?"

Cap replies "No."

Falcon replies "I know who to call." Implying Ant-Man.

Falcon is in the movie
