If Marvel and the scriptwriters sell this as more of a comedy than a traditional superhero flick, it'll succeed

The movie will succeed off Rudds charm alone...dudes charisma is always on point....and it appears from the trailers he's constantly poking fun at himself....I think I need a break from RDJs humor, Pratt brought good charm with StarLord, but I have a feeling Rudd as Lang will become a crucial piece of the MCU...he's just a lovable guy, No Jenner.

Soooo is Antman just a mini Iron Man with a better personality?

If we're talking Paul Rudd in this movie, he isn't really anywhere near being a billionaire, genius, Playboy philanthropist. Just a thief who loves his daughter.

i veto this. Can't just make movies out of everything...

What's next..Pelican man?

How is being an ant a superpower. They should just call this Antz 2.

Ants can lift up to 5000 times their own body weight. Not a superpower?

A human with that increased strength and the ability to maintain it at his shrunken size is a pretty unique power.

I'm not questioning that ants are strong. Most non-human animals have some sort of amazing ability but it is kinda odd/od to make them into a superhero. Spiderman is a great concept, well executed and with history so I would not really question it. Ant-man though....come on...that's just taking advantage of the current superhero movie craze.

What's next dung man?

Dung beetles are beetles that feed partly or exclusively on dungs or feces. They possess exceptional dung disposal capacity and one dung beetle can bury dung that is 250 times heavier than itself in one night

What I like is that Marvel is bringing pretty obscure characters out and making them household names.

Let's be honest, who gave a damn about Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Loki, etc. before Marvel started making good movies? I grew up on the X-Men and had high hopes for that franchise, but it's been consistently craptastic. At least Marvel took what was remaining when their biggest team was sold off and made a whole lot out of very little with regard to the name recognition of the characters they hadn't sold off.

I'll take it. I know it'll at the very least be entertaining and intentionally/unintentionally funny. It's not like we're going into the 8th X-Men movie HOPING it'll be entertaining or interesting.

This. There's going to be lot of revisionist history in 10-15 years but I'm always going to clearly remember no one gave a crap about Cap, Iron Man, GotG, Antman, etc. before Marvel Studios took off.

Like you sir, I grew up on the XMen. They seemed to be the more popular team growing up and no one cared about the Avengers.

Bruh, I remember the Avengers seemed lame to me. They had to make them crossover in X-Men comics just to generate some buzz from time to time. I even remember the Iron Man cartoon and that **** was boring af. I was like, ok so this dude has a heart problem and wears a high tech knight suit. So ******* what. I'm gonna go shoot some hoops. But when that X-Men theme came on, you couldn't move me from my seat.

Word, man. Stark seemed crazy lame to me growing up. He wasn't a wise *** like that, I think - he was a serious character - and then RDJ came along and made him funny.

Captain America was super lame to me as well but he started growin on me during Avengers 1. Then Cap 2 came out and I really liked that. Now Cap is my favorite character. I rock with Cap :smokin
