Jordan Lace Tips Help/advice/experience

Hey guys. So I just bought a pair of jordan 7s from this guy. It's a brand new shoe but he told me that one of the lace tips came off (one lace only). Looks authentic, got it checked out by several Jordan expert heads as I always do. My only question mark in this is the lace tip. Anyone have any experience or advice regarding the lace tips falling off? Contemplating whether I should return them. Any and all help is appreciated.

*ps: are lace tips that important to you guys?
 
You could buy some more if it's a problem to you
They aren't that hard to obtain
 
I don't mind it. I'm just more concerned about if the shoes are legit or not. I've seen some GM where tips have come off. My thinking is they probably don't come off on the authentic pairs unless you TRY to take it off... 
 
honestly, i hated the metal lace tips on the 2002 black/red 7's i had. they weighed too much and would, when swung around, untie my shoelaces all the time.

i also didn't like the round laces and swapped them for flats which look way better.

laces aside, those were the best retro's i ever had.
