I know LA is sort of like Atlanta where stuff is spread out and the transit system isnt as good as NYCs, but im sure irs better than Atlanta.

Is it realistic to be able to get from LAX to Venice beach and do some sight seeing around LA with no Car? Lol main things im trying to do is Golds Gym Venice, In N Out, and cop some Carne Asada fries, but im sure my girl would want to see Hollywood,Beverly hills, etc

Hell naw, you def need a whip to get around LA....**** is spread out.

You're going to be supremely assed out without a vehicle out there. Might as well rent you something proper.

How you going to hit Fairfax Ave and shop w/o something to store stuff in?

You setting yourself up for that L bruh.

Traffic do get thick. But the main thing is just how far things are apart. You do not want to be paying for cabs or riding the bus.

Oh in that case you might be good money.

You going all the way to Cali just to go to the gym and eat some fast food?

LA native here currently living in the A.  Yea get a car with Nav.

Traffic is bad depending on where your at, and if there is a accident or a high speed chase(incident).  But it moves fairly quickly.  Just be cautious because traffic can go from a smooth consistent 80mph to a screeching halt like that.  If you hit the 110 405 101 on Fri or Sat night expect there to be traffic all the way up till 1 or 2am headed north, and the 10 headed west.  The street traffic is thick but not that bad because the lights are in sync with each other unlike the A.

Public trans is a no go in LA anything could happen from winos, gang violence, or just flat out crazies on the bus or train tripping.

I remember a smoker talking to me on the train headed to LBC.  She was telling about how big her sons D was to big, and that's just the tip of the ice burg when it comes to stories of me being on MTA.  So don't do it to yourself.

Been to LA one time. Hit my boy up thinking that because we in the same city we can link and catch a few drinks or something. Dude told me he was 2 hours away (including traffic time) and we were still in the same city. I was pissed.

Def get a car OP.

Pretty much.

If i dont plan on leaving Venice Beach area I assume I can get by and do things on foot? I would assume since its essentially a tourist area everything is walkable

Honestly don't see the point in going to LA and not shopping. Beyond my comprehension.

I got enough clothes, not sure what exactly i need to be shopping for that i cant get online or in Atlanta lol. Pops works at airline and my girl works in the hotel industry so this trip is cheap, just going for change of scenary nothing more nothing less.

You don't need a car to get around LA. You can get from Venice to Hollywood by bus and train. You'll be good. From LA, went to School in Atlanta. LA public transportation is better. Despite the winos. Unless you're soft, you'll be alright.

I live in the heart of Atlanta so i see junkies and daily, not worried about that. Main thing is Marta in Atlanta is a joke and doesnt really get you anywhere in a convient manner.

It ain't about being soft or not being worried about junkies.  I brought up winos, because a wino got on the bus with a can of open beer, and as soon as the bus started moving dude fell on them spilling his beer all over them.  That's the type of **** I would like to avoid IMO.  Plus if you think traffic is bad in a car try it on the bus.  But do you player.

FYI there are no trains anywhere near Venice either.  Straight bus action, and Venice is filled to the brim with crazies that ride those busses.  But it makes for good entertainment tho.  Most likely you'll leave with a story to tell.

Yes, you need a car ...period, or you'll go broke in a cab sitting in traffic trying to get anywhere else.
