Need help with website!

NT Fam, I have been trying to figure out the best way to create my website. Is creating it through coding better than just creating it through a site like word press? For the people that know about creating websites, what would you consider the pros and cons of each?

I have been trying to look up information on the web but I could not find anything, so I thought it would be best to ask others that know about these type of things. Thanks in advance! 
 
There's pro's and cons to either choice.

Coding from scratch offers more freedom and ability to customize. This is better if you have a specific design aestheic you're looking for. Also good if you have a specific language you want to utilize.

Using plug in type builders (WordPress, Wix, etc.) are easier to use, but will not offer the range that pure code will.

Is it illegal to put an article from a place like cnn or another website onto my own personal website?
 
No. Cross linking is perfectly legal and for search optimization in many cases... Just make sure to give credit to the site.
 
I recommend using wordpress...

sketch out the design you would like and notate all the features you want in it.

goto themeforest.com and search through the readymade templates for a theme that has a similar style and the prebuilt features you want

Once you have a template that is similar to your design,

you can do simple html/css modifications to make it look like your original sketch

without spending the weeks trying to learn/debug the code.

I had a homie who sent me a photoshop of what he wanted the site to look like...

I took that design and found a theme that had the main features he wanted:

-vertical menu

-fullscreen background

-blog design

and tweaked it to directly fit his design even though some parts i wanted to improve

I didn't cause it was a favor (free) and he was picky about it's look

charged a nice chunk of change for that tho...

I actually just unveiled my own website earlier today!

I used jimdo.com which had the template and amount of customization I wanted. Still a work in progress but definitely a start.

Not being funny but those sites are horrible. I'm a pro with building sites. I usually charge about $350-500 for basic sites and they still look ten times better then them.

I got about 28 sites I built and host for my clients on my server.

Takes me a day or 2 to build a site

Not being funny but those sites are horrible. I'm a pro with building sites. I usually charge about $350-500 for basic sites and they still look ten times better then them.

Yea I want to see the sites too if this is true. Im leaning towards you putting up false statements. But I'll like to see before I make judgement.
 
If you're going to be making more websites in the future besides this one:

Look up some videos on youtube about bootstrap 3, it's really easy to learn to use and make websites with.

You'll have to learn basic html and css first though. I'd recommend codecademy for that.

If you're really only trying to make one then I would go the wordpress route like someone else stated before. If anything you can always learn more about coding in the future.

HTML is really not that hard at all.

wordpress will save you a ton of time. coding will allow u to control all aspects of the webpage and what you want to do

I was going to post some but then again I know how immature Niketalk can be and i do not want my clients being harrased which will jepordize my business

But if you need a website built I can build one for you and you can even pay me after its done to prove it...or if you need any help cratre me a FTp account so I can ftp into your website to fix it or help out

Only thing i do not do is the graphics but usually i have a graphics man that does that for me. But then again usually the websites dont need to much graphics besides a logo

Im been doing websites and marketing for a long time
