Doctor mis-diagnosed patients with cancer for chemotherapy revenue

I'm sure this happens more often than we think. The money is in treatment.

Word of advice... Anytime you are seen for a serious illness or injury, make sure to seek out a second and third opinion. Injured my knee playing ball a few years ago and a doctor told me I tore my ACL and would need surgery. Went to 2 different sports doctors and found out it was nothing more than just a strain.

the fact you guys are surprised by this worries me.

this has been going on for god knows how long, giving patients all kinds of therapy, drugs, surgeries with no actual problems just for $$$$

just because its not in the new doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Im sure if you search google you will find some messed up stuff with insurance fraud dudes have done that will make you shake your head.

greedy idiots :x :smh:

This type of thing happens all the time. Not just in the medical field. Dude better lose his license to practice in every state. A lot of times these corrupt doctors will just move to another state and open up a new practice after they get banned from their current state.

I'm currently designing a hospital with a medical oncology department which includes infusion bays. The chemo patients literally sit for 4 hours plus slowly getting chemo dripped into their bodies all the while staring at a parking lot more often then not. They have buckets for vomit and god knows what else they have to expel from their bodies during the process. Newfound appreciation for people who stay strong during their recovery process. So sad so unfortunate.

Always get a second, or even third opinion.

exactly or do some research yourself.

no matter what, if i am prescribed something i do a lot of research before i even think about taking it.

a lot of doctors are out for money, paid by the drug companies to prescribe their drugs and hand em out like candy.

dont be stupid people! do your research before you take anything and always get a 2nd opinion if you are having doubts. Sure it might cost you extra but IMO its worth it.

America is in the business of getting and keeping people sick.

Tons of doctors like this, maybe not this foul, but giving their patients unnecessary test and medication.

Still gets me heated that kids get put on medication and this sudden rise in add/adhd. My nephew has been on meds since he was 6-7, just an active kid. Mom takes what doctors say as gospel (**** them), so he's been on meds. Hes 15 now.

Doctors get it right way more than they get it wrong.

This is an isolated case of a scumbag scumbagging and we can't extrapolate this and apply it to all doctors.

Most doctors have to make a decision based off of 5-10mins of information they gather for you. You want to be diagnosed and cured yesterday, plus you're probably coming in trying to diagnose yourself based off of spending 5mins on webmd.

If a disease is cured, the funds are probably just going to be focused on curing the next disease. There's not like there's a shortage of ailments that need to be cured (and money to be made by doing it). Sure pharama's are out to make money but it's not always abt making money by preventing cures from hitting the market.

The cost of new drugs from inception to market is astronomical, not to mention the regulations and testing required.

Getting more than one opinion is good especially if treatment is ineffective or your initial doctor can't find the issue of what's going on.

And it's been widely disproven that vaccinations are not connected to attention disorders in children.

Good for laughs but People who truly believe statments like this have no clue about how cancer or viruses etc work.

This dr is a disgrace and should spend the rest of his life in jail. I am really curious about he did it. Nothing biopsy proven in these cases etc

Tons eh

I agree there are lots of unnecessary tests done but most of them are not done to pad the drs pocket they are done out of CYA medicine as a means by which the doctor is trying to protect him or herself from future lawsuits.

nothing in this country surprises me when it comes to individuals making money. At then end of the day, it's loosely based on sales. Get them something that they don't need because it makes us more money.

Similar story

I braced a fall on my wrist playing ball and the first doctor I went to said I had broken it. I went to a specialist afterwards who said it was merely a very bad sprain. Kept bothering me for months till I got an MRI done on it, as opposed to the x-rays I had been getting, which revealed some minor damage. Still bothers me some to this day, but it's been a lot better after I had some PT done.
