Do you like living in/would you move to Phoenix AZ?

I'll keep it simple as this, moving to AZ from any part of the Midwest is an upgrade.

That a fact?

IDK, I've never been out to the midwest aside from Indianapolis, was boring.

But Chicago seems dope. People get hung up on the south side but most Chicagoans aren't even exposed to that nature of Chicago.

How's KC, Omaha, Columbus & Milwaukee?

Phoenix is honestly nothing special. Lacks diversity, lacks progressiveness, lacks culture & the job market is honestly overrated.

Cost of living is a mirage. You want a house out here you pretty much have to live in a HOA. The sheriff is a ******* *******.

AZ is racist. I live here cause the homes are cheap. I used to live in NorCal, SoCal and Hawaii BTW. Mad boring here... u cant go out 6 months of the yr. cause its 100+ degrees. The only advantage are the cheap huge homes. DONT DO IT. Still trying to move back to Cali when the time is right.

and on the point of "huge homes"

while the houses are indeed nice, and relatively large.

houses in neighborhoods are grouped so closely together and lots are generally so small that your neighbors can always see what you're doing.

**** this **** b.

Dont come to Milwaukee. Most segregated city in america. The distribution of money/ opportunity here is mind boggling. I can drive down capital and be in the hood, middle class, and affluent jewish community within 5 blocks. STD rates here will have you shook. Ratchets everywhere. Winters how brutal. I must say the summers are very nice, plus its close enough to chicago if you spend a considerable time there the drive isnt bad.

been here in North Phoenix for 8yrs (coming from CA).  relocated due to job(s) and I can honestly say I love it here.  Streets and neighborhoods mad clean when compared to LA/OC area .

Scottsdale = Irvine (plush)

Phoenix = OC (the good parts)

SW Phx = Los Angeles (downtown)

Mesa/Chandler = Moreno Valley / Riverside area

Don't miss CA much except for beach, but honestly we visit CA so much throughout the year that I tend to find myself going to the beach more now than when I lived in CA.

Hit me up w/any questions!

Spent a lot of time in phx/AZ, Due to my cousin playing for the cards. I went to college in Cali and any break I got I would go stay with him in AZ. Had a lot of fun due to the lifestyle he lived, but outside of that it's no way I could live there. Place just lacked diversity like it was no brothers or black women out there. The ones I met were cornballs or from out of state and was ready to get out of there. The scene is dope tho straight beautiful. couldn't get down with constant 110+ weather. Mad groupie city which I loved and the bunnies and Latino women really do love a brother. Really cheap. All in all great place to visit. As a brother from the southeast region(NC)and went to school in LA I just couldn't get down with lack of diversity. Idk if this sounds right but the place was just corny, no flavor.

Strongly strongly strongly disagree. Now, I am a Midwest guy, love the feel, but I like the Midwest way more than I did Arizona (grew up there, lived there for about ten years)...

PROS of Arizona...

Weather from November-February

Big city feel (if that's your sorta thing)

Good shopping

In N Out

San Diego/Las Vegas/Mexico (all great vacation locations) within an easy driving distance

More pro sports teams (if that's your sorta thing)

Mexican food (Los Favoritos breakfast burritos >>>>>>)

CONS of Arizona

Weather from March-October...everyone talks about how great the weather is...well, I hope you like the sun/heat, at least 90 degrees from Easter to Halloween...not much rain, people get frustrated at having the same weather every single day.

People are very rude. Everyone seems like they are in a hurry, don't say "thank you", "excuse me", etc...just not friendly. Bothers me.

Illegal immigrant issues 24/7...feel unsafe at times

I noticed kids growing up in Arizona get into a lot more trouble (drugs, drinking, sex, teenage pregnancy) than they do in the Midwest, so, I'd keep this in mind if you are considering a family.

Traffic...(keep in mind the rude people for this one too)

A lot of the houses look exactly the same

If someone offered me to live in Phoenix vs. Omaha, Lincoln, Indy, Oklahoma City, etc...I'll pick the Midwest every day...(and I hate the cold)...

Yup, all true. 5 hour drive / 1 hour flight to San Diego / L.A.

AZ is clean, beautiful landscape, women, nightlife, Mexican food, minimal traffic, affordable housing etc.

Doesn't really lack diversity, you just gotta know where to hang out. Not gonna be a lot of sneakerheads in Chandler.

When it's hot from June to September you use A/C and resort pools.

If you're thinking of moving to AZ - I would highly consider Phoenix, Tempe or Scottsdale. Those are the 3 best cities IMO.

I don't mind if Phoenix stays under the radar - more broad's for me. :smokin

Also, the snake thing is a joke - I never see any.

And watch out for the scorpions. Stepped on one the other month and **** felt like a burnt cigarette on you :x

My cousin lives out in AZ...Maybe I'll visit soon. Seems like a good place.

ain't it like 115 during the summer?

I was out there a few months ago and it was 96 for most part. I went to 3 stores looking for a fan. Why did I have a buy a fan at the CVS store? I asked some associates at Walmart and Big Lots about the lack of fans. They goin tell me fans are a "seasonal" item. I couldn't believe it.

I absolutely love smelling the air during the Winter. It smells so crisp. And that first good snowfall always looks nice. I'm not a big city guy at all but Phoenix for the most part only had 2-3 lanes of traffic. I thought I was going to like 5-6 lines of traffic but I didn't. That changed when I got around Scottsdale. And what exactly is the HOV lane?

HOV lane, or High Occupancy Lane is a restricted traffic lane reserved at peak travel times or longer for the exclusive use of vehicles with a driver and one or more passengers, including carpools, vanpools, and transit buses. Minimum occupancy is 2 people per car
