Good Evening brethren,

I am going to Rome in late March for a week and was hoping anyone that's been OR lives there could help me out.

Let me know some good food spots, shopping and sights.

We plan on taking the train to Venice for the day, but would love to hear or see your experiences.

If you live there, let me know. Maybe me and wife can meet up with you and grab a bite and visit some places.

I believe so. We did everything by car though.

Was only in Rome for 2 days. Did the standard tourist ****. Hop on/off bus tour etc. It was dope though.

So I can't really help in terms of filling a week there.

Then Florence for 2 days.

Tuscany for 4 days (we went to Italy for the wine, so we stayed in Montalcino for the longest to visit a few vineyards).

Then Venice. Which was dope to me. No cars/bikes. Water everywhere.

Enjoy the trip.

it's very close by train, compared to Milan and venice.
Good looking. I will start piecing together an itinerary thru train for 2 days here, 2 days there, 2 days there.

wife is reading this...

Just told her we should split the trip and thats what I'm going to do lol.

watch your wallet at the Trevi Fountain...some old Roma lady was looking for wallet and tried to grab it by going under and up my leg but ended up cupping my sack...it was uncomfortable and awkward since you knew she was reaching to try to steal my wallet

Try to get to Venice.

The water taxi back to the airport was a dope experience in and of itself.

Since you're going to be in Italy, make sure you eat some authentic Italian food.

I recommend Sbarro.

Lived at AVIANO, AB Italy for 2 years.. we were an 1hr train ride from venice... water taxi was funny lol!!

There is a nightclub called discotecca odissea up north u should check out if there on a Friday night.

The summer the beach cities are hopping...

What wasn't funny was I almost got lost in Venice the last night I was in ITALY and almost missed my train back.

This was 10 years ago.. I'm finally going back to europe this weekend for 11 days to Belgium, & will be in PARIS for the weekend.

venice might be sort of cold during that time too...i know when i went years ago in January, it felt Chicago-cold for the 4 or so days i stayed there

Rome was fun, for eating out I preferred going to the small restuarants. The food was cheaper and a lot better. If you do go to Florence, check out the outlets. The Mall is a great outlet mall with Gucci, Dior, Fendi, etc. There is also a Prada outlet nearby. Bags were like 75% off when I was there.
