Official 2014-2015 Atlanta Hawks Season Thread

that anti-ATL bias the NBA is showing this series is appalling

*Al Horfords ejection the worst call in nba playoff history?

*only things like this happen to atlanta sports teams

*only bs like this happens when teams play against lebron in the playoffs.[/quote]First one: it's up there. Can't say I was surprised. :\

Second one: c'mon, man.

Third one: EXTRA legit. 'S why I can't say I was surprised about the first one. :\

I agree the atlanta thing is obviously a reach but damnit if it don't feel that way for us sometimes.

Horford being ejected did kinda surprise me tho. Didn't know that Bron had THAT MUCH pull to talk the refs into ejecting another teams best player during the conference finals. And he was the main one telling the refs to toss Horford Which they of course did. I read his damn lips. Which were as clear as day "get his *** the **** outta here" is what lbj said about Al. What a chump.

Bron is a great player I know this, but this type of stuff is exactly why he has haters everywhere he goes. And prob always will. It's not jealously of his God given gifts that no nba player has ever possessed. Or his winning. It's his attitude about it. And at his age now there's no excuse. Karma gonna he waiting on him in the nba finals cause I don't even think the cavs are as good as the rockets. I mean look what cleveland let happen at home to the hawks, down korver, no horford for 2nd half, carroll out there on 1 leg, and damn near got beat by wholesale subs like Kent Bazemore, Mike Scott, and Shelvin Mack getting all the mins. Millsap playing Center

And they think they have a shot against the Dubs. Finals gonna be more embarrassing than the conference finals in my opinion. Refs will prob do their best to keep it close. But i don't see the fans at the Oracle letting any kind of BS get by without that whole arena blowing up which no other place blows up like the Oracle. Curry will be getting as many calls as lebron. See how that works out for the refs and bron. Delly prob won't make it out these playoffs in one piece now. Guarantee it.

Well Horford will not be forced to miss game 4. So as per the nba rules - that would make it a flagrant 1 now since there is no suspension now and now we know he shouldn't have been ejected cause it wasn't a flagrant 2. Am I wrong?

So that Dwight Howard elbow/fist that he swung and connected with Bogut's face was a flagrant 1 and no ejection and Horfords was a flagrant 2 and ejection and he didn't even connect with the head he elbowed him in the shoulder. Complete joke.

Guess Howard and the Rockets gets away with it but not Horford and the Hawks :smh:

-way to call em down the middle nba

it's not that the NBA loves Howard more than Horford, it's that Horford was playing against LeBron.....

so The nba loves Lebrons team more than Currys team? Splitting hairs here aren't we? Or the nba loves lebron more than curry the mvp right now?

I dunno bout all that. Guess we will find out in the finals. nba loves them some dubs. Espn loves them some dubs. Bron just needs more help from the refs than the dubs do. Vegas loves them some dubs.

Well I guess Marv Albert didn't say he thought Horfords ejection was the worst call in the playoffs of all time for nothing.

whom do you dislike more the Dubs or Cavs?
I've liked the dubs all season. I used to like lebron when he was in his first stint with cleveland I was a big lbj fan, but "the decision" and all the bs in Miami and since then going back to cleveland he has shown his true colors. Crybaby, sore loser, spoiled brat. Dubs deserve all the love and credit they're getting and then some. Cleveland and the cavs can go straight to hell as far as I'm concerned.

if thats not the refs directly determining the outcome of a game I don't know what is. Howard shouldn't have been ejected but with them ejecting horford for something less severe it absolutely makes zero sense other than to sabotage the hawks in cleveland cause bron said so :smh: I don't mind the tech and the free points or a fine or whatever but in the playoffs u don't throw major players out of the game for something that is a judgement call And could go either way. I guess in cleveland lebron is the ref as well as the coach and best player.

*Very interesting player there at the number five spot. *Kawhi Leonard to the A? Hey a man can dream can't he. Let Carroll go and get Kawhi. Him and Bud I would think are pretty close.

Extremely curious as to what the hawks will do this offseason. Maybe bring everybody back and make a few minor tweaks like having players on the bench who aren't all 2nd year players. Highest paid player on hawks bench right now and going forward is mike scott. Makin 3 mil a year. Thabo makes 4. If carroll leaves which everyone outside of atlanta seems to want him to, sign Aaron Affalo, and that will def leave more money to do other things. Copy the dubs and their bench. Have no drop off or a much smaller one when our bigs have to come out. When Horford and Millsap go to the bench the hawks need somebody better than the worst player in the league Pero Antic(luckily he's a free agent so we won't have to see him in an ATL uni no more  ) as the first big man coming off their bench. Mike Scott and Mike Muscala are both really young, but have a lot of upside but aren't ready yet to be the backups to a championship team.

I fully expect Muscala and Scott to really improve and both hit their strides next season. Bazemore And Shelvin Mack as well. Scott desperately needs to work on his defense and become more than just a speed bump on D and continue to improve his shot. Muscala Needs To Hit The weight room. Period. All the other skills he needs to excel in the nba he already has, including his jumper, athleticism, bball iq, height, and length. Just needs to add weight. Especially in his legs to keep from being backed down in the post so easily. Dude better be doing squats, lunges, and deadlifts til he throws up this summer.

Lotta folks thinking we need to trade Schröder or Teague but I dont. And i bet Coach Bud don't either. Absolutely nothing wrong with having a spark plug young fearless guy like dennis playing behind and sometimes along your all star PG. These two dudes will at least be together for another season. Both have 2 more years on their deals. So they'll both be hitting the free agency market together. Even if they were to try to do something wirh them, who is and for what. Unless your improving this team without hurting the cap it's a stupid move. Both these guys are on bargain contracts and chances of replacing their production with the money they make would he daunting to say the least. I guess u can say trade jeff for a big man? But who? Better be an all star.

I would like to see us let Millsap walk and sign aldridge, Gasol, or B lopez, and in that order. If we can't get any then resign Millsap. Prob 1 year deal for him with new tv deal coming and he's underachieved these playoffs to out it lightly.

As for the rest of the team everyone is coming back and we're gonna be a contender for years to come as long as they bring back ferry or at the worst if they let him go everything is already set up for somebody to reap the rewards of danny ferry masterful roster. On a 58 mil dollar budget I mind u. Of course this team wasn't built to win it all this year. No team with a 58 mil budget is trying to compete for a title. That's just making money for the owner. Luckily for us atlanta fans and players the players and coaches overachieved all season leaving experts clueless as to why this group of nobodies is in first place and stayed there pretty much all season. Then they go on to make their first ever conference finals and win the most games in franchise history. What more could u ask for as a fan. And as an owner.

Hopefully Ressler will bring back and give Ferry (hoping it's ferry) or his replacement:smh: :smh: some decent money to spend since we're already on the brink of a ring. Our window is these next 3 years. We either 1 big scorer away or a few minor bench tweaks away from winning a ring.

We looking good that's all I know. Danny Ferry is a genius. Please bring him back Ressler. U won't find this type of qualifications with another GM.

putting that team together and it winning 60 games and making it to ecf is truly a miraculous feat by Ferry and Buds player development. These 2 obviously wanna stay together. It's obvious they should be retained given their track record. But do u get Bud without keeping Ferry? And if not then what? Let the executive of the year and coach of the year walk out the door cause danny had 1 bad moment and said something he shouldn't have. Bud had a bad moment he got a DUI. Didn't cost him his job. This is american the land of 2nd chances. Danny Ferry don't deserve one?

Well that's pretty much my link to the 2015 offseason up there. I wrote alot and coulda wrote more.

We still playing tho and I don't expect the good guys to go down without a fight. And whatever happens I tip my cap to all those guys for rekindling my love for the game of basketball.

Although now watching them play against lebron, the NBA has some serious subjectivity issues with inconsistent refereeing with certain star players. Beconing "WWE ish" Suppose to be sport first, etertainment 2nd. But its onvuously the other way around in todays NBA. THANX MJ. Really started with him. Tho Bird and Magic were always workin the hell out the refs too just not making a whole spectacle of yourself like lebron does everytime he misses a shot cause he wants a foul. Bird and Magic would just say a few things quietly to the refs. They didn't have to cry and moan like lbj does. And lbj don't need to either. Guess he just thinks he does.

Should have been a tech on Bogut for wrapping Dwight up like that, and Dwert should have been tossed.

Horford was shameful. I'm still confused. :\ Della-DOVE-a tried to take Al's knees out, gets no consequence. :\

Fair enough. +1 appreciate the input. If I were to not look at the horford play and expect that to be the standard then I personally would have hit Bogut with a loose ball foul and a flagrant 1 on howard. But that's just me. Horford I thought deserved a flagrant 1 as well. Delly didn't deserve anything except for the elbow that Horford happened to not connect with cause I think he tried to pull back at last minute but it was already took late. Nobody was injured or hurt. Delly does have a bad rep and that rugby style move in basketball is uncalled for and his reckless play has already cost 2 key players being ejected 1 being the teams best player and one players ankle for 4-6 months. That's not a blip, that's a pattern. Along with other nba players calling him dirty and passed players calling that rugby style play dirty and reckless. I'm all for physical basketball but not going after guys legs. But its the playoffs no key players were hurt no punches were thrown it's just the heat of the moment type stuff cause its the playoffs. If it weren't the playoffs then itd be different. May cost korver his career.

I just hope a Hawk kicks Delladova in the face really hard before this series is over.

+1 I hope so too but I dunno who it's gonna come from. Maybe bring Elton Brand in there to talk judt elbow him right in the mouth or whatever the "brotherhood" feels would be the proper "retaliation" or not jus send someone in there not worried bout getting tossed. Hell let pero do it actually. Thays literally all he's good for. He's facing "menacing" charges from the nypd currently anyway so let's see Pero physically grab a Cavs player preferably dellewhoever. Or accidently fall into his legs. He's better of not even being in uniform anyway.
