Aqua 8s Black Friday 2015

Lets be honest: This mindset applies to a lot of people. A lot of these limited shoes, people want because of their exclusivity. Sure, a lot of people like them. But some of these ugly color ways that are released today in limited quantities, a lot of people would have no interest in if they were a GR.
I don't disagree with that at all.  All of us are innately drawn to exclusive/limited shoes (applies to most collectible things beyond sneakers too), but to NOT buy something you like, solely because you won't feel special/unique is flat out stupid.  Buying something because it's super limited is one thing; Not buying something because it's NOT limited is dumb.

Still on the fence with these... I mean I want them because they're more like the OG's, but I still have 2 pairs of the 2007's deadstock still

Should have sold the 07's when they were going for good money :smh:

Got a call earlier today from one of the 5 raffles I entered.  At least I can rest easy now knowing a pair is secured

you guys gotta understand its black friday. resellers are out there copping tvs and elmos instead

I'm not gonna judge someone who buys exclusive kicks cause years ago back when I cared that much and I was in an environment where people would notice (high school) having kicks that other people didn't was cool. But exclusivity was never a reason why I didn't or didn't buy a shoe unless it was to resell. If it's such an easy toss up between play offs and aquas you're probs not really into the shoes to begin with. This line is getting so over used lately but buy what you like and buy what you'll wear.

Another thing I'm not a fan of is people buying shoes and not wearing them. I see it in the ones thread all the time. Kicks people paid resell sometimes as much as 1k and never wear them. I buy shoes to wear and not to look at. But how people spend their own money isn't gonna affect me

Its not that they dont feel special. Its also because I've ran this colorway into the ground since 2010 - a half decade.

Its still my GOAT shoe, I just wanna switch it up to the playoffs now.

But like I said, if I get a call from the raffle, I'll more than likely still cop for nostalgic reasons

I went to a small chain retailer down the street from my job during lunch for the hell of it. I asked to see the Aqua's he and followed up and asked what my size was. He brought that good ol' size 13 out and after looking at them for about 2 minutes he says, "So are you going to buy them or what?" I'm like, "Right now?" Needless to say I forked over the $205 and fled the scene. I paid cash and he had to cut the barcode off the box which I didn't mind. I wasn't tripping because I know how that works.

I'll post shots when I get to the house. I'm sure these have been posted enough but I'll contribute anyway.
"fled the scene"

To the unique argument m I say buy what you want. I bought the orange blaze 8s back in 2008(they were available then) and no one cared or thought they were cool. That didn't bother me at all. Fast forward to 2014 and people compliment them almost every time I wear them because 7 years later, and no one has them. I still appreciate the compliments but it doesn't change my like or bangle of the shoe. But as mentioned before, the choice is yours.

People bash this year's Bordeauxs and Aqua's but will have to pay $450 for them in 5 years. These kinds of people so have passed on them in 2015 because they weren't poppin or hyped. Happens all of the time.

450 in 5 years? I don't think so. I think the time for GRs fetching that much even after a few years is over. Even wih this remastered gimmick going on. The market heavily favors the whole limited/collab type of release now. Outside of 1s there isn't much outside of limited shoes that even touch 400+

You gotta respect when people purchase what shoes they like and not just because of hype. When you can cop a pair of your favorite mikes without the bs. I love it.

This has to be the easiest raffle I've ever partaken in :wow:. I've won 3 mens pair and 4 kids so far. I only needed 2 mens pair tops (1 for me and 1 for my boy just in case he struck out) and 1 kid size for my cousin. If I would of known it was gone be this easy I would of only hit up one mall. I think we all gone feast NT.

While I love this shoe and will be getting a pair in rd, these will be much easier than last year's infrared 6. The demand isn't there for these as it was for those.

What's the deal with this pick up by 6pm on Black Friday nonsense? I'm happy I won 2 raffles but don't they know people work? Who can make it there on Black Friday at 6 with all the traffic on a work day? Ridiculous

Got the call for my size 13 from footlocker at willowbrook mall in Houston about 20 minutes ago. Happy I don't have to worry about these next week!
