Okay everyone.. this is my first major post to this new thread.. Since theres not really one place for people who want to know more or learn how to do good install or discuss products that protect your sole.
Since a lot of people “actually” PM me about what I use or just the actually “mileage” and durability and how long does Sole Protection Last.. I decided to post my experience here and give some people some advice and yes I am very unbiased..
So about last week I said “hey.. lets do it this way”..Show better than I can tell or advise or insert a random icy-post
The picture below is of my beloved Gym Green pros.. You can see that the bottom’s sole protection has a lot of miles on them.. Look at how yucky they are.. The funny part is that most peoples Gym Greens look like this and they cant do much to fix them..
Here’s them without the protection. Note this was a crappy install so because of that.. some dirt has gotten to the sole and has “contaminated” them.. Minor but remember I’m nitpick about things and I have improved on my installations now.
Here’s of picture of the naked protection.. As you can see this stuff works!! It absorbed up a lot of DIRT and preventing the shoes sole itself from getting really yucky..
This is me rocking these 2-3 times a week for 8 months straight by the way.. Now my Pewter have been installed with SP for a year and they still look really good.. The install should last another year but who knows.. maybe ill come back to these and re apply so i can have them back but for now.. when i walk in them.. they are icey…
Back on topic.. Since these have been contaminated and got hit with a lot of oxygen and dirt.. I will have to ice these.. I brewed up the DIY sauce this time but in my opinion Fabes sole sauce is a bit stronger..
To really show the Delta between the two I did them shoe by shoe.. This is about 3 days with 2 10-12 hour saucings a day. I used oxiclean so i could get down a bit deeper.. I also did my saucing in house with the light setup..Its safer plus non-heating bulbs i can sit them out for a while without worrying my soles will shrink separate and etc.
I would say be careful with this because with some of the graphic foams.. If the sauce seeps to the foam (since its upside down while saucing).. it WILL mess up the paint work.. BIG TIME.. I messed up a pair of fight jets because of this.. But solid color foams are okay with spills.. still just try to cover it but lets fast forward..
Here’s the right shoe.. Back and ready to be protected..
Since I seen where a lot of breakage came from looking at the protection.. I came up with a method to prevent any dry from getting in or it tearing up.. Since these are pro’s I did a “t” layer of protection in the middle.. as the grooves allow dirt to get in and stay in.. Picture below of the install
Kinda hard to see but enlarge it and youll see what I'm talking about.. It prevents the whole "wait until it rains then the protection will weaken" talk..lol
Also I said it would be better to add an extra layer of the front toe to make it stronger as with the way i walk this tears easily.. Pictures of the install.. I also did the same for the heel..
Now its my left shoe turn
Before
After
Pictures below of the completed product..
Also installation tips i can share..
If you're using a heat gun..
Any temp over 1k degrees will fry your protection..
Id recommend mid between 5-8 hundred..
Also.. you dont want bubbles as this would cause the install the fail..
So you want to apply and stretch so the protect “hugs” the shoe..
I also did the sides because this will prevent dirt from getting inside if you have bubbles near the edges..
Over the next week I will do the same thing with my Yeezy pro’s.. I have to really figure out how I’m going to feel not being able to rock these things.lol but I’ll manage for now
I also plan on doing like a sort of installation guide and rate the complexity of installs depending on shoe..
IF you guys have mastered the art of perfect protection, feel free..
I’m also all up for questions as well..
PS: I’m all for the jokes but i wanted to make a real serious thread that I hope doesnt get locked, or meme homed with meme’s like the ones in the spoiler..
Whew.. this was a lot to write..

This is beyond lame. Sneakers really are the new pokemon cards. Word to
The problem with the sneaker culture today is all these kids who can't afford to buy shoes and wear them out just wear them a few times duck walking and sole protecting then sell for double the retail price. These kids just follow the hype for the latest shoe and they feel they NEED it but once they have it and worn it a few times something else comes out and they sell the old for the new.
Selective purchasing and having a rotation of kicks you love > renting hyped kicks.
I just wear this, then I don't even have to worry about the elements.
