After being kicked out the NT Madden league for acting like a fool while drunk and getting into another bar fight last night I have decided to embrace sobriety. This thread can serve as a tool for people like me who suffer with alcoholism. Stories, tips, and anything that can help NT alcholics is def appreciated in this thread. I hope I'm not the only alcholic on NT lol.

So that's what that was all about? Damn.

Do you experience any negative effects if you don't drink?

Yo I honestly hope this helps you.

I don't usually get mushy on the internet, but you really seem like you want help.

Good for you man, just embrace it

No bro but I waste too much time and $ drinking. When I get hammered I act like an idiot. When I'm sober I'm a laid back reserved dude but when I drink I turn into a psychopath. I don't like myself when I drink and I'm better of being sober but I love to drink . **** is cray.

i enjoy drinking as well, fun going out with friends and letting loose

i've recently gotten to the point where if i'm going to drink that night, i usually dont stop until I fall asleep

Over the weekend my brother was DJing in LA and I got kicked out for dancing with street signs on the stage... :x

I enjoy myself when I drink, kind of sounds like you don't...I think thats when it's an issue

Nothin to it but to do it. I don't mean it's easy but def easier that relapsing and all that. I didn't want to be that dude who goes back and forth. I just said today is the day and haven't drank since. Hmu anytime man, stay strong and your life will improve so much once the dust settles from all the problems alcohol caused.

I've gained a lot of weight because of my drinking habits. I need to get back in the gym. Get on my Royceda59 lol
ive played mysel over and over because i was drunk and not in the right state of mind

They say ppl show their true colors when drunk

I drink everyday.

But according to the online questionnaire I took, I'm not a full fledged alcoholic.

Gained like 15 pounds in my gut early last year, still haven't lost it :smh:

But I am eating better.

Best of luck Tebow. You have the capability to conquer your intended path, but it's all about discipline. Don't put yourself in positions that could make you susceptible to relapsing. You're either in or you're out, no in between. Hope it is, && continues to be, the former opposed to the latter homie. Flourish :pimp:

You can do it

Just think you dont wanna be that homeless drunk wino who makes ppl laugh yet while they go home with their families you report in to your bags of empty soda cans do you?

Thanks bro today is day 1 of sobriety for me. Let's go!!!

You can do it man, it's really all in your mind.

I don't have a problem with alcohol, I drink a few maybe once a month now, but I've come to realise/admit that I have a problem with cigarettes. I've probably smoked like a pack a week for the past 10 years, but more recently like a pack a day. Those closest to me don't know this at all, as far as they know, I only smoke when drinking. But one day, as I was driving, I decided it was time to stop, so I pulled over to the nearest trash can on the road, tossed out the pack that had just been opened and the lighter and never looked back. It's been about a week and a half and I'm doing good, I don't have those urges. I run about 4-5 miles almost everyday and have definitely noticed the difference in my breathing. There's a chance I may smoke when drinking, but I'm definitely not going to be buying any more packs.

OP, you can do it. :pimp:

Op you have other issues. Seems you have anger problems you need to take care of not alcohol

It's much easier to fix your other issues if alcohol isn't in the equation. Rome wasn't built in a day but god damn life is easy once you don't have any dependence problems. You're so used to digging yourself out of the mud. Every recovered alcoholic/ heroin addict I know is tenacious af and really doing well for themselves now. My good homie kicked shooting up speedballs and he isn't even the same person in a good way three years later.

No one will understand unless you've been there but once you're broken everything you do you have a point to prove after that moment. Whether it's to yourself or the cats who scoffed you off as a drunk.

To OP i'm a proud recovering alcoholic, I was depressed, my ex took my son away from me, I hated my duty station, caught 2 DUI's in a 3 day span, was spending damn near $200 a week on alcohol alone, going to post smelling of alcohol. Then  I was sent to a 30 day rehab treatment when I was in the military because of my alcohol dependency issues. It was a life changing experience on how alcohol can cloud your judgment and take over your life. I had relapsed 2 months out of rehab not following my 12 steps, I wasn't keeping in touch with my sponsor, stopped going to meetings and just said F it.

I now keep my drinking to a minimum, AA ain't to bad, a lot of insightful information and I plan on going back to my meetings again. But 1st step is always admitting that you are powerless over alcohol and it has taken control over you. so your on the right path. Wish you the best of luck OP, and if you want any info on AA or rehab feel free to hit me up.

You ever try anything besides 12 steps? I went to a few months of out patient just to talk to some professionals. They basically told me what to look for to prevent relapse but I was already 6 months off it. I just thought the way I was drinking I wanted to at least check it out and have a fall back if I relapsed. It wasn't 12 steps just treatment. It was pretty fun actually.
