From watching the commercial to the trailer promo to reading this title I can't help but think this is gonna get cancelled with the quickness

The writing is gonna have to be insanely good for everybody to be talking about it. Good actors but don't know how that'll take them. NBC has continued to fail a lot as of late.

Smh. Might watch, but the trailer itself piss me off

Kid deserved it.

If the dad had such a problem, he should have sent the kids inside the house and told ole boy to see him "wit da hands"

Shocked this hasn't turned into a race thread tbh

It would actually be somewhat appropriate in this instance

Chill guys, it's an 8 episode mini series.
 See didn't know that.

Then I'll adjust my prediction to I'm not sure premiere ep ratings will be good enough where NBC doesn't end up moving the air date of the show to Fridays @ 10 and then eventually cancelling the mini series where they just dump the remaining eps on a random Saturday.

i seriously thought this was fake when I first saw it.

I can't wrap my mind around this because this would just never happen in my family, especially not to the point where we'd be divided over it

first of all you don't hit someone else kid but also in my fam the kids mother/father would have be over there first to reprimand him before anyone else did

and if someone did smack someone elses child my uncles would have washed him and threw him out the end, if the culprit was also fam

he would get cursed out so bad he'd never do it again, but I just can't see anyone in my family slapping another persons child across the face

and we're not one of those no spanking families

Now that I think about it, this whole thing probably would've been better suited as a Law & Order: SVU ep

Not sure why it's a mini series, seems like a boring premise to stretch. And honestly hitting another person's kid is a no no, especially when the other parents are there. The hell am I missing?

I can't wait to see this show.

I grew up on whippings and got the hands put on me quite a bit by my parents.

In Kindergarten, I was still getting the paddle from the Principal for christ sake.

The dude putting his hands on another mans kids is out of line, and the Father of that kid should have checked that dude that hit his kid, not try to destroy him in Court.

This should spark some conversation on the talk show circuits and Oprah and ****.

Anyway, they have a fan here, Network TV or not.

Wasnt the kid tryna swing the bat at his kid, only reason why I would think buddy would react like that. Nonetheless shoulda been a PBS movie

The day I got hit or a whopping from anybody but my parents is the day the whole fam is going wild on the person that hit me

It's one reason this premise doesn't intrigue me at all. You getting all type of hands put to you if you do that. Hell might press charges on top of that. Call ACS and the whole 9.

LOL, that's what I thought man.

I was in trouble for smashing a kid across the face with a crayon box and we were in the Principals office getting our whippings.

I wouldn't take mine,  and I tore up the Principals office all the while telling him my Father was going to woop him for trying to hit me, so they called my Father and he had to come up from work to get me.

He showed up and told the Principal to tear my *** up and he watched. I was so mad, but it was a life lesson no doubt.

Was that some religious school anyway? I mean damn what decade was this? Why the principal trying to beat you or even ask? Like damn only them Catholics be on some **** like that. The rest know a lawsuit would be coming.

It was a public school.

I was in Kindergarten. Born in 79 so this was what, 84/85.

Lol @ pops selling me out.

Man, he was mad he had to leave work. I had 3 brothers and sisters, and then my Aunt, my Fathers sister died that year so we had her 5 kids too under 1 roof so, He needed that work I guess.

It's on broadcast television so it has a 99.99999% chance of being complete and utter trash.

Damn, I bet you got another beating when you got home :smh:

I haven't seen this show on any commercials in weeks. Didn't even realize it started yet until recently. I was intrigued initially, but lately I've been dead on pretty much all TV.
