I mean we have Nightcrawler confirmed in his classic red vest and Cyclops very clearly Jim Lee'd, Mystique in her white dress when she's been traditionally naked in the films (which was a better look), Magneto rocking the red like in every other movie, Jean Grey in her Grant Morrison fit, what more do folks want?

I want better movies..

Was just contributing to this convo since it was being had

The underwear doesn't need to be on the outside. That's why I said they should update some to look right for the movies. dc got rid of superman's red briefs. batman is always rocking the mask with the ears but wolverine can't even rock his trademark mask once.

I've said it many times but for the xmen movies they do the villains' costumes justice.

love the jim lee cyclops look with the glasses and the sash at the chest. I guess moreso than just saying yellow and blue, I'd like to see the classic x men unis come to the big screen in a way that shows the individuality of the specific characters. apocalypse looked like a step in the right direction till you see some of the major horsemen vs x-men sequences show x-men rocking what looks like 22nd century swat unis in the late 80s lol.

that pic with the squad wearing their individual outfits was dope, mystique with the classic white, nightcrawler with the thriller-esque jacket and scott with the jim lee outfit. more comic inspiration > attempts at real world uniforms built for practicality and not looking cool.

That Wolverine glimpse at the end of the trailer was nothing special. It would've worked better if it was Gambit charging his card.

As for the costumes, FOX don't get it. Still living in a pre-Spidey movie world. Ultimate comics really aren't the best examples especially since that book couldn't keep the same creative team for more than a year.

I don't see why just keeping QS and Wanda as Magneto's kids is such a big issue with people.

It worked fantastically in the Ultimates and the idea that two Avengers could be children of the #2 most lit mutant supervillain is a great plot grab.
In the Ultimates they also had an incestual relationship.

I'm not sure what really worked fantastically. They knew from the jump he was their father while in the brotherhood which was a straight up terrorist group.

The reasoning for them being on the Ultimates team never really made sense and was covered in a few words. Then after Ultimatum they became full on evil bad guys.

They say they want comic outfits so they go with uniforms like in this pic. Now that's not enough, they want their individual fits LOL
That's what they ALWAYS wanted though.

When ppl think of the X-Men it's not the Ultimate X-Men

Also just so yall know the first X-Men movie came out in 2000. The Ultimate X-Men comic came out in 2001. The comic guys were copying the movie. They just made the suits look better.

I thought everybody knew this since this was before Marvel studios and Marvel comics was hype to have a movie made about one of their more popular comics. The success of the movie had them wanting some of those movie fans to check out their new X-Men comic that didn't have any of the continuity baggage of the main MU comics.

They did the same thing with Blade comics and the movie. He went from leather biker jacket, broad sword, and a cesar to shades, army cut with a design in his head, a Japanese blade, and all leather clothing like he could've been in the Matrix.

Fox just basically the equivalent of the out of touch 30 somethings that think it's still cool to wear baggy clothes and jerseys.

Marvel has nailed character design for sure, few hiccups along the way but batting average been solid...caps avengers Pajamas were horrible  but now my dude looks propper

Costumes will always be a problem in film.

The bar for suspension of disbelief is much higher in film, while in comics because they are drawn, because artists have different styles that are unique, we accept a level of visual metaphor that we would not in film.

Its why this Captain America costume is bad ***

View media item 2008446

But this looks ******* stupid.

Its why I HATE it when comics try to use the movie costumes, why are giving away something that makes comics unique?

Ruining classic costumes, with poitlless lines, and "realistic" elements

:x

I find it weird that they were willing to go with the ridiculous psylocke costume....

but all the other costume stay with black monochromatic aesthetic.

Beast in the uniform looks weird but I guess they were saving time and money on not having another cast member needing hrs of body make-up.

you can't please people man. it's like people want to be upset, they want to go in to movies with SOMETHING to hate.

like damn if i already hate like 4 things from Trailers before i even go in to it, why would I even want to waste my 16 dollars ....

Gambit charging his card. Imagine that. :/
Yall will still find something wrong with it or be mad about something.
Why didn't they show his face ?
why didn't he have his bowling gloves on like in the comic, that'snot comic book enouh...
why didn't he say mon ami........
if they have gambit now where is Rogue?
Why does he have a 2 of hearts cared and not a Ace of spades card in the trailer

yall do finds something every time.. .

dudes stay picking that off film no action pic of cap. that costume was dope in Avengers 1. damn near as close as he's ever gotten to the original.
Can't make people happy

and Cap is a soldier, the 2nd pic is super dope..I like it

TDizzle you trollin bruh

That cap suit looked like it would have fit perfect in a 1970's Cap sitcom **** was ugly.

And I already gave fox props for making the subtle steps towards the more comic book inspired get ups.

You know they wanted to get Munn in that costume and Munn wanted to get in that costume.

Probably gotta lube her up to get her in that costume.

Wonder who is the lucky person that gets paid to do that?

I forgot what interview, but she did say she had to get lubed up to get into the costume. Only way to slip into it.

Tdogg has had it

Not liking a lot of things about a trailer isn't going to stop me from spending 16 dollars the first time. It would however, stop me from coming back for repeat viewings.
