Swagneto and James Xavier will forever make this an enjoyable movie, I can't say this enough, dudes are amazing.

Was actually watching The Last King of Scottland last night and really solidified Macavoy as one of my favorite actors.

Yeah I think Jackman still holds it down being that he's played his role for so long, but time to pass on the helm to Fassbender, dude as Magneto is boss....gets better each movie

I love Fassbender as Magneto, no doubt...but does anyone else feel like they kind of force his character into the movies too much? They made it make sense in DOFP, but now adding him as one of the Four Horsemen is starting to feel a little forced..

We've had Magneto as the primary villain in every single X-Men movie, I think X-Men have some of the best villains in all of comics right next to Batman...

Nah. The 4 Horsemen were never a set group of mutants. They're completely interchangeable

And I get that...All I'm saying is, for someone who isn't a member of the X-Men, Magneto has been in every single X-Men movie.

Magneto wasn't exactly the villain in First Class.

And Magneto has been part of the XMen, even the leader of it at one point.

In First Class, he was a founder of the XMen and help create the group and recruit their members.

I don't feel he is forced either considering the stories are usually between Charles and Erik and their principles. If anything, Wolverines part feels more forced as they try to make him the center of every film.

Magneto IS Xmen tho...yeah they have other villains, hence we getting Apocolypse now and hopefully Mr Sinister down the road...but Mags is their Doom, Loki, Red Skul, Mandarin (lulz) IMO Mags is quite possibly one of the best thought out and complex villains of comics period, dude is so conflicting, he can literally be a good guy at any given time as he has shown in the film, turn around and those same ideologies make him the antagonist, always loved him in the comics and he was done well justice with this casting, I personally never liked Prof X but in the Cinematic Universe McAvoy kills the role, seeing those two on screen is what makes these new Xmen films dope, Jackman and Jlaw are ok supporting, but I don't remember Mystique being so damn important in the comics.

Yea, that trailer did nothing for me. It felt more like a showing of "look which mutants we're putting in the film", all the while leaving out sexy *** Psylocke

The trailer looked really good. I'm cautiously optimistic for X-Poc. But the only thing I really want is a good Cyclops. I don't want another whiney Scott Summers. I hope they let him cut loose with the optic blasts.

Doomed in what way?

The fans will never accept the movie unless they fixed Apocalypse's look. If they had any kind of sense they responded properly to the negative backlash.

We'll see :nerd:

(The movie will still make hella money regardless)

I dunno if one character's look will stop the people who have gone to the theaters to watch all the xmen movies from going to see this. Maybe xmen / wolverine movie fatigue would cause some to not spend their money on it.

Yeah cyclops been done dirty for like a decade now...lol

**** Cyclops and **** Captain America

Yeah and Apoc doesn't even look all that bad in the trailer

We see a giant Apocolypse I'm sold already...he's gonna be good....but I have a feeling as always, Mags will be the actual villain...lol

it has for me

he looks and sounds awful

the X-men movies have dropped the ball repeatedly tho, so i can't say i'm shocked.

Mags is just going to have a change of heart at the last act of the film, help the X-Men, and end the movie with a staredown between him and Charles, discussing what he still think is right for Mutants.

I feel like fox is just stuck in 2000-2007

They don't want to catch up to the standards of comic book movies in 2015

They're just coasting on the strength of their actors at this point.

While warner bros might be doing too much, and apparently botch their casting, at least they are trying.

Wished apocalypse was a big as he was in comics. He kinda looks like Ivan Ooze. Too early to judge though so I'm open-minded. Just hope they fully show his abilities as an Omega level mutant.

Amel says:

Tdogg says: thats the point of getting big name actors for any movie

Lol the point of casting is to find the actor that best fits the role, not the most popular actor available for the role

Marvel understands that. A lot of their actors are popular/famous because of their roles for marvel, not the other way around.

The MCU would be a lot different if marvel had a different casting mentality.

But anyway, this is all besides the point. Fox obviously coasting. Their cgi and general direction/vision seems to still be stuck in the last decade.

They should've just replaced apocalypse with Oscar Isaac's character in Ex Machina. Dude was damn creepy.
