Teller will be fine. Do another role like Whiplash and he'll make people forget about a bad comic book movie. Maybe he isn't leading action man quality, but he'll be fine.

And Jordan won't have any problems either. These aren't middle aged former stars trying for one last go at being a leading man, these are talented, young actors who will have plenty of opportunities.

DC/WB should just sign up MBJ as John Stewart now (if he doesn't have a multi-film deal with Fox yet). I know he is a bit young for the role but I wouldn't mind it at all.

Was thinking the same.

Would be 2 Johnny Storms playing 2 different comic book characters

Come to think of it, I don't really think it would even be an issue even if he has a multi-film contract with Fox because Reynolds was doing Deadpool and GL.

And yeah Tellers gon' be fine though he probably won't be getting any new big franchise to lead anytime soon, he'll just keep banging his GF to keep himself occupied.

Fox Near Deal for 'X-Men' Live-Action Series

Fox is inching closer to a live-action X-Men series.

"[For] X-Men, we're in negotiations with Marvel. We're hopeful we'll be able to announce something soon. We're not closed on a deal yet but it's something we're definitely pursuing," Fox Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden told THR on Thursday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour stop.

While conversations to bring the franchise to the small screen are underway, sources indicate a deal is far from complete, with Marvel — which owns the comic rights — still having to sign off on the deal. The comic book powerhouse is based at Disney, with ABC shows including Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter on the network and five upcoming straight-to-series programs in the works there. Marvel would have to sign off on the deal.

^Interesting to see what route they go with the show. Maybe focus on a a group of teens at the school with the main team having cameo's from time to time?

Did MBJ get an Oscar nom for Fruitvale? I know he's on the rise but yall are talking like he's getting offered roles like crazy and rationalizing that he's being picky

To me, after Whiplash, it makes much more sense that Teller is getting offered way more roles now (and he wasn't nominated but at least he was playing opposite/off the guy that did get the nom and won). That's just how it is in Hollywood. You get an Oscar nom for a great performance, win or lose you get a lot more opportunities to end up nominated again the next few years.

As for Josh Trank, I really liked Chronicle but I knew something was up with dude when I read some of the ideas for the sequel. Plus the way ppl keep referring to him as the guy that did Chronicle I eventually looked dude up and all he had to his name were short films and Chronicle. It was his first movie and ppl were talking about him like he was a sure thing or had so much promise. Getting kicked out of the Star Wars writer's room/LucasFilm lot did not help either

Just saw a film critic I really respect say F4 is the worse superhero film since Elektra
Yeesh.

I thought I heard insulting reviews when one guy said the movie is good and worth the watch as long as you walk out before the end  Dudes going for the jugular comparing it to Elektra :x Like do ppl remember how bad that was?

One spoiler I've heard:

They've made The Thing a murderer with like 40+ kills working for the military and never really address it. Ben out of the 4 is pretty minimized as far as focus too :smh:
They've referred to and showed celestials.. And you've got everything that happened in avengers and GOTG

And every movie containing infinity stones or whatever they are calling it

marvel would also get the rights to the skrulls, I think

They partially own the skrulls as is. Their issue with bringing skrulls to the big screen is how much green on greenscreen it would take.
This continues to be a baseless opinion you bring up and state as fact  When the real reason they probably won't be in the movies any time soon is cuz they partially own the skrulls

Miles Teller has an interview with esquire where he literally comes off as the most unlikable dude alive lmao

And I meant MBJ taking a hit as far as his asking price goes and things of that nature. He's the top black actor under 30 so he's basically in a lane by himself  this film isn't going to ruin his career but it'll be a blemish nonetheless

I guess the question is what kind of bad is this movie. Is it just boring bad or funny bad?
What I'm getting is it just misses the mark completely. Like it takes itself too serious to be entertainingly bad

tonally it's closer to something WB/DC would produce and given the actual material it sucks because of that.

And They've replaced the humor and 'wonder' that most Marvel properties have with psychological horror is what I saw dudes on /Film say

In all these reviews one repetitive complaint I keep hearing is about how certain things are just thrown in there :smh: They couldn't have all conspired to say the same things.
Reviews are turning around now, was 10% but now up at 11%.
 You funny man

What site you referring to? Last I saw in this thread it was at 14%

MBJ got snubbed for Fruitvale Station. That performance as Oscar Grant was just amazing.

Came across this...no chill

Random question but is the Colossus in Deadpool the exact same actor and character as the one in the past Xmen films?

It should be the same Colossus in the X-Men film universe...Just not sure when Deadpool takes place. In regards to the actor, no.

My guess is that Deadpool takes place current day in the new timeline created after DoFP.

So it's Post AoA too.

But contuinity doesn't really mean **** these days, I wouldn't stress over it too much
