I enjoyed the first 3/4ths of the movie but the ending was kind of weak. I liked the weapon x scene and any scene involving quicksilver tho.
This is how I felt. Half way through the movie I was think "this isn't that bad. Reviewers are trippin." The ending was just trash.
Was anyone else hoping Apocalypse would choke the life out Mystique?

yah...

should have just killed mystique and that should have been the cause for Magento to turn on Apocalypse

You could feel J. Law's lack of enthusiasm through this film. I really wondered why they didn't kill her off since she clearly doesn't want to do these films anymore :rolleyes

Still can't get over how they just through the Phoenix Force in there. Kevin Feige would've never let no **** like that go down

Litterally walked out on this movie. OMG Fox give up Xmen rights. ASAP. Got to the part where they put on the damn X-men suit and they are all in the plane and Mystic is telling Jean how she was scared on her first battle... Caught my self dozing atleast 5 times. Man, can't believe how trash this was.

WEAK

Well she kind of got her wishes by not being in that blue suit, she was human about 90% of the time. Big paycheck + less blue costume = a happy gal.

But yall savage with the spoilers, at least let 24 hour pass after the movie release

I know some of you guys been discussing it for a week but it still officially comes out today.

because there are those who still come in to get opinions on whether they want to see it or not

there are also discussions at times that isn't directly related to the film

I just think it's common courtesy to at least wait a weekend then it's a free for all/enter at your own risk

Plus not everyone watches it early morning the day of release or the night before. Gotta give people at least a day.

I don't agree.

You gotta be smart enough to know not to come in a thread on the day of release, if you're worried about spoilers :smh:

Once a movie is out for the public to see, it's no ones job to wait for you to go see it.

I think it's fair game.

Eh, this is exactly why there was an MCU thread and then a separate movie thread that just released a while back because there were enough who wants to discuss other things (like future films or just get a review of the film) without being spoiled.

Then it was consolidated so that it doesn't take too much space in the forums and we don't have the same discussions overlapping on different threads. And it was working there for a good second too.

Plus it's really not that hard to spoiler something, type your piece and then highlight it and click on the spoiler icon up top on the editing bar.

saw deadpool again. it was a good movie. not great. but good. i think with a bigger budget they can make a great sequel.

I am kind of 50/50 on them getting a bigger budget.

On one hand it makes it more grandeur and they can actually use the villains they want and more mutants.

But on the other hand a big budget means studio might interfere, I am still not sure if Fox is smart enough to not get in their own way. Also, the first one turned out as good as it was, maybe because they had to think more carefully and adapt to the budget given to them so scaling back might have helped them churn out a better product?

As long as Fox lets the writers and director do their thing then I think it'll be fine though, that's probably the biggest hurdle when getting a bigger budget. They really do not need too much of a blockbuster budget though, just double up ~$50m budget they gave for the first one and that it'll open up huge possibilities for them without going way too overboard.

This.

am I the only one who felt the weapon X scene was out of place ?

While pretty dope, it did feel out of place. It was definitely a Wolverine 3 cameo/setup dropped into the later end of the film.

How would you rank it against BVS? I know they're different movies, just wanna compare the levels of enjoyment between the two movies

I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as BvS. I went in expecting a 7/10 movie and I left with a rating of a strong 7.5/10  The movie's definitely easy to pick apart and just shows the difference between a Fox X-men movie and the bar that is a Marvel movie.

On that note though, I could watch a 2 hour movie of Olivia Munn running around in that fit :nerd:

Hopefully I'll catch this movie on a matinee showing soon. For some reason, I'm not as excited as I was for DOFP.

See now you got people discussing this film on the MCU thread

'X-Men: Apocalypse’ Improves On ‘Days of Future Past’ at Thursday Box Office

“X-Men: Apocalypse” grossed $8.2 million in its Thursday night previews.

The film’s immediate predecessor, “Days of Future Past,” launched with $8.1 million at the Thursday box office in 2014 and went on to earn $110.6 million over its three-day holiday weekend.

Early tracking had the “X-Men” sequel aiming for $100 million for the long Memorial Day weekend (including Monday’s results), although studio estimates were lower, just above $80 million.

That's interesting. I went to a 7:00 showing last night without a problem, but DoFP had a full theater if I remember right. It seemed like nobody gave a **** about Apocalypse

I mean, it's only been out a few hours unless they watched it last werk like some people have.

Lol @ dudes discussing it in marvel.

Just put psylocke in deadpool and let the jokes ensue

And they may as well let hugh cameo.
Only thing extra they should spend.

Ohhhh and give me more Carano...mmmmmmm she was so tasty in dp

Went to a special 6:00 showing in IMAX 3d yesterday evening. I apologize to those who I've spoiled the movie for but you aren't missing anything miraculous. Just typical FOX watering down xmen lore :smh:

I don't get how Deadpool was so great and this film was just whatever. I always enjoy the x2 theme though. The way they incorporated it in the beginning had me smiling. Especially in the ending too. Still were cheated with the costumes :smh: man...
