Gave DOFP another try with the Rogue director cut and it's still garbage. Ya'll trying to hard saying these X-Men movies are decent. This movie will be trash as well, probably IM3 status the way it's looking like.

I wouldnt call it trash but it was more or less average and I expect this to be average or below.

Confirming that the Egyptian mutant is over 5000 years old, Apocalypse will apparently make his presence felt when he awakens and decides that he's not a fan of the Reagan era. "It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction," director Bryan Singer tells the site. "It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs special assistants in this process." Those special assistants are Storm (who Apocalypse finds living on the streets of Cairo), Angel (who is part of a fight club in Berlin), Psylocke (who works behind the Iron Curtain for mutant-broker Caliban), and Magneto. Magneto is now trying to live a normal life with a new love in Poland, but when his world is "shattered", Apocalypse apparently has little trouble recruiting him.

Mystique meanwhile is now rescuing mutants who are being enslaved or oppressed, including Nightcrawler (they don't point out whether or not he's her son though). Ravel apparently tries to find Magneto to comfort and help him when she learns what happens, and it's that which sees her reunite with Charles Xavier. "He’s not teaching anybody how to fight at the moment," James McAvoy says of where we pick up with Professor X 10 years after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. "He’s teaching people how to control their abilities so that they can work at a bank. But of course this movie challenges all of that."

It's this which will apparently lead to the focus shifting from the characters of the previous movies to a new group of mutants who are going to become the X-Men we all know and love from the comics. "This is kind of the introduction to them," he says of the young versions of characters like Cyclops and Jean Grey. "At the same time, it has concluding aspects of those previous stories."

bro i dont even remember DOFP

hella forgettable....just like all of the X-men flicks have been...

after the hype dies down, and you watch these flicks sober months later, you realize how average they really are.

the hype for x-men films >>>>> the actual film

This Xmen joint is about to be butt, the Apocalypse design literally killed any interest I had in seeing this movie

He's mad small and goofy looking they really dropped the ball here

How the Xmen movies have turned out so lackluster overall is crazy to me

That's like a latex porn parody costume. Hope someone at comic con rocks one.

Singer makes himself sound more like an idiot every time he opens his mouth

Doesn't make sense that x3 isn't canon but x1 and x2 is.

Someone take all his privileges away from Fox please

X-Men canon is getting worse than Terminator's

Timeline 1: X1, X2, X3, The Wolverine, DoFP (don't even remember where Origins fits in)

Timeline 2: First Class, DoFP, AoA

I don't know if First Class ever really fit into the first timeline because the ages are so weird. Hell, when he first uses Cerebro in 1st Class he see's Storm and Cyclops, both look to be preteens. If AoA is 20 years later then they're supposed to be at least 30 something

And the next Wolverine film will presumably follow him after the ending of DoFP in the current timeline so then is that a part of Timeline 1, right? He remembers going back in time and everything that happened in the original timeline so maybe he's just a separate thing all together.

I think by that he meant it might still be canon as in if they insert a film between Apocalypse and X1/X2 timeline, that might explain how it might still work.

But it seems like Apocalypse will pretty much make those null anyways because Nightcrawler is being reboot ted so X2 would stop being canon.

It's still not a multi-verse if it erases those events completely.

I still think it is pretty simple to follow and I am usually bad with timeline, no way it is even near Terminator confusing level.

A big part of time travel (in fiction) is the fact that you cannot erase events from happening, you just create another timeline.

Well usually people create their own rules when it comes to that stuff.

I mean it's not like you can literally get a real life example when it comes to time travel.

In the end you just got to try and piece it together and make sense of it all.

Someones PS of Apoc, better i think but I think his skin should just be grey (mugh lighter blue) with hints of blue. Hopefully Fox are seeing the complaints and cgi him in some way.

AoA can choose to completely ignore everything that happened outside of DoFP and First Class because none of those character are aware of the alt timeline.

this is the simplest explanation i can find lol

The main continuity problem now is Wolverine.

There is a version of him that exist prior having his future conscious sent back, another one that's presumably completely unaware of what happened in the new timeline from the 70s to Present and the one that's thrown into the ocean by Magneto.

You can attempt to solve this by saying The version in the river is abandoned by Wolverine's conscious after Magneto is stopped and is now back to being the pre-DoFP Wolverine. The Wolverine's conscious from the film is now in future/present Wolverine.

But now what happened to the one that's in the river? There isn't really a way to do this without basically admitting they're two universes running parallel to each other
