You guys don't need to be so salty if someone didn't like the movie.

Definitely not, but that guy does that for every movie that the general consensus likes, as if he's attention starved. Seriously, ignore him.

So movie threads are only for people that thought the movie was good. OK.

I bet you can't even find 5 instances in which I came in a movie thread and said the movie was bad. You are still butt hurt that Star Wars was trash.

Ok movie. Nothing world changing. Most of the humor fell flat on me. It's not like I found it childish or anything, just didn't do much. Like I could see how it's funny but meh.

The movie felt safe to me. Safe in the sense that while yeah it's deadpool, it seemed too contained. Maybe safe isn't the right word. Maybe cheap is better. Like now that the movie made a ton, I want to see a much bigger sequel that has the budget of like an avengers or Xmen etc

I guess the movie worked because I'm actually interested in seeing a sequel.

Side things

- Always been a fan of Reynolds since Just friends. Good to see him get a hit

- I wish the villain would've been more of a threat

- morena baccarin  ever since firefly

- I liked the Xmen suits. Like somebody needs to get those guys on the actual Xmen movies. I'm tired of Songers stupid black leather armors. Colossus looked great and NTW showed that a character can wear yellow and look cool( the first clas suits were garbage)

Lol the budget was in the 50 millions

Of course you're going to get a movie that feels 'contained' with narrow scope

50 million is like a Netflix series budget

I know what the budget is. But something like that still factors into my critique of the film. I can appreciate what they did with that little money but still it hampers thibgs

Movie was definitely self contained (which to me was a good change from other films that feels like a prequel to the next film) because of the budget and the uncertainty of a sequel happening.

My only wish is that the once the studio gives them a bigger budget that they do not try to interfere with the film. Just let the same director and writers keep rolling on the film with Reynolds.

I didn't wanna be a debbie downer but this is exactly how I see Fox "handling" the success of this film. I really hope I'm proven wrong.

Said the same thing. Just hope they don't try to force things and do too much in later installments. Just keep the flow as it was and it's a goldmine.

We will have to see how much money this film makes after it completes its run

I doubt they would give Deadpool an Avengers budget if it doesn't reach at least a billion

My instincts tell me the movie isn't going to have as much legs as other cbm because of the r rating. All these people who took their families to the first showing wouldn't do it again, right?

Right? =/

I really doubt it would get close to a quarter bil budget even if it makes a billion.

Doubling their current budget will go a long way and then they could afford more cameos and better villain with more cgi. I'm sure Deadpool will take a jab at that scenario in the sequel.

it'll get 170-200

fant4stic got 120.. first class got 140-160.. DOFP got 200

I think 130 mill would be a solid budget for the sequel.

Also it would've been the greatest thing if Wolverine answered the door at the X mansion

I don't think it'll get $170m or higher, in the end it is still going to be an R-rated film and they're going to limit their budget on it.

XMen films are big ensemble films that had to pay big stars like JLaw (who is getting like what, $20m a film these days? Fox probably doesn't pay her that much but she likely makes around $10m for an X-film these days?) then Fassbender, McAvoy, Jackman, Hoult, Stewart, Mckellen, etc....

Unless they load up on a bunch of expensive cameos and crapload of unnecessary cgi, I don't think they'll even go past $120m-$150m budget (well I guess they could if they really want to, I mean if they give you that budget then why not use all of it, right?). They only really need to pay Reynolds in the film (though he probably get paid based on how much the film makes since he is a producer as well so his salary probably didn't take too much from the budget) and everyone else are rather unknown and Morena gets paid tv money.

I also sort of like it that they were forced to go a bit more practical than full blown cgi on this one.

I hate JLaw.

Next Deadpool should get 150mil min. Fantastic Crapfest got twice the budget this movie got. Think about it.

This was beautiful...
I salute Ryan Reyonalds on this.
Seeing one of my favorite characters getting proper treatment..
Never thought in my lifetime.
Some jokes were kinda forced but this movie made up for that.

The actress who played Vanessa...

Are they still going with a Gambit solo film? Dude's film should be rated R. New Orleans Mardi Gras :nerd:
