No more Four

→ April 29, 2015 Whether the real culprit is low sales, Marvel's ongoing feud with Fox or simply the imminent arrival of Secret Wars, Fantastic Four comes to an end with this issue. The good news is that this issue serves as a natural conclusion to James Robinson and Leonard Kirk's run. If a bit lacking in surprises, this issue neatly ties up all loose ends and bids the Richards clan a fond farewell.

Marvel's Fantastic Four Comic Comes to an End

Above all, Robinson seems intent on making up for all the darkness and hardship the FF faced in the early issues of this series. This issue is really about the family rallying around one another in the face of adversity. Every team member is given their moment in the spotlight. There are a number of similarities to be drawn between this issue and Fantastic Four #604 (the finale to Jonathan Hickman's main saga) in terms of tone, scope and a general sense of redemption for a team too used to failure in recent months. Robinson doesn't let the cancellation dampen the festivities.

Leonard Kirk has been delivering some career-defining work with "The End Is Fourever," and this final issue doesn't disappoint. Kirk's style is nothing if not elegant. It doesn't dwell on excessive details, but paints an expressive, cohesive vision of the FF ad their unusual world. He has no trouble channeling the scale of Robinson's story and all the emotions at play.

This issue also includes several short backup tales that focus on various individual FF members in the aftermath of their battle with Psycho Man. The Johnny, Sue/Franklin and Thing stories are solid, if not especially noteworthy. However, Jeff Parker's exploration of the father/daughter bond between Reed and Valeria is a great homage to one of the most compelling dynamics in the book.

Right Rail STARTRight Rail END
The Verdict
There's no telling how long Marvel will go before publishing a new Fantastic Four comic. But at the very least, the current series was sent out with style and grace. The FF received the happy ending they needed after being put through the wringer for so long.

I have a feeling that isn't his final form or at least that is him without his helmet on.

I'm gonna say that is how he will look like in the movie.

He definitely won't have a helmet in the movie imo, his face already has too many elements of the helmet design. It would be pointless for him to wear a helmet that looks pretty much the same

I gotta say that i'm not excited whatsoever for this new F4. Looks super trash to me.
Give it a shot. Beats having no comic book movies to see. If it bombs at the theaters at least that will fast track it to Blu-Ray

First trailer I saw had me a little excited. The newer one, not so much. This seems as if it's gon be like MOS & TASM1.

I think most do not have high hopes for this film and it's understandable. They only made the film to keep the rights, the tone seems so different from what one expects from a F4 film, it looks more like a sci-fi film than a superhero film and it's another origin film.

For me though, I will see it no matter what, I just do not skip any comic book movies in the theater. With that said, there are things I like from the trailer and the film. I like the talent they got though their chemistry is yet to be seen but so far so good in that front. I also like the director so far. I actually like the more serious and sci-fi tone too, the first 2 were fun and light-hearted and cheesy (they did go a little to far in that end though) but I want to see a different take on it. Oh and the Thing looks great in this one.

I don't want to support this F4 film at all but I have to watch just once because I love the first family.

The trailers for F4 are cool and they definitely got some good actors but I just don't know about Trank

I thought Chronicle was pretty good but reading about why he got fired from Star Wars, basically from having a bunch of problems from filming this movie, I'm not very optimistic

I guess they are finally addressing that Cyclops and Havok are siblings?
