Same group of NTers in every thread disliking every movie...

Now I find out these guys never seen the movies they hate so much...

Lol.. Makes Sooooo much sense

I saw the movie. Where is this coming from?

Who didn't see the movie but is hating on it? I haven't been reading every post to be honest, still catching up.

There's a HD bootleg around on the net. I saw the movie a week before it came out in the states.

Mystique as a mutant freedom fighter does not work.

thats what she's always been...word to her taking Rogue under her wing and training her along with pyro in da cartoon..

da only thing that bugs me is no one has established da fact that she smashed Azazel after first class & birthed Nightcrawler..
 You're being specious or are insane b

Mystique was never a freedom fighter for mutants in the cartoons. She was straight up in it for herself and anybody she considered family (Rogue, Nightcrawler, etc.). Nvm that she really wasn't consistently on the show for you to say she was anything more than a criminal and was treated like any other X-Men villain that had different motives depending on the ep.

She was never solely in it so that mutants could flourish. She was akin to a con artist.

I can't entertain any more lies and twisting of facts cuz you want to cite the cartoon. It gets even worse when we go to comics.

A quick summary:

A shape shifting mutant, Mystique has had many forms throughout her life. She gave birth to Graydon Creed whose father was another mutant named Sabretooth. Her son grew up to lead a campaign against mutants called the Friends of Humanity. She also gave birth to Nightcrawler, but after the father was horrified to find out that she had given birth to a mutant, she placed him in a basket and left him in a river. She cried while doing this, mainly out of love for her son and also because she would have to start over.

She later became the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, whilst she was working for Apocalypse. While she didn’t care about her own biological sons, she took great interest in Rogue, her adopted daughter. She taught Rogue how to use her powers and manipulated her into taking orders, using her as a weapon. She once convinced Rogue to absorb Ms. Marvel until the superhero was unconscious and Rogue permanently had her powers.

Rogue later left, and Mystique did all in her power to win her back, most notably trying to brainwash her into becoming a Horsemen of Apocalypse. She tried to assassinate Senator Robert Kelly, framing Gambit. The time-traveling mutant Bishop came from a dystopian future and helped stop her.

Rogue helped her in escaping because she took the form she had when she adopted Rogue as a child.

She was given a favor by Mister Sinister, who'd asked that it'd be returned. She was informed by him that she could get her daughter back since Charles Xavier had left the X-Men. She, disguised as Storm, lured Cyclops, Wolverine and Gambit into a trap. She had Blob, Pyro and Avalanche with her to back her up. Cyclops and the others escaped from her trap and she ordered Blob to keep the three X-Men busy. She lured Rogue into the hospital, where the long sleeping Carol Danvers was being kept. She told her she was trying to help her remember her past, the past she claimed Xavier took from her. When Rogue shape shifted into Ms. Marvel and fought her in her mind, she grabbed Mystique and flew with her. After the ordeal was over, Mystique told Rogue she was the only one who could help her, but, Rogue told her she wasn't her daughter anymore and flew away, leaving Mystique behind, watching Rogue flying away.

I can feel you on that. I haven't supported a FOX-Men movie since I unfortunately saw X3.

Now you can say I watch to see if they'll ever get better but they've been on a steady decline ever since.

It's crazy to me how many ppl here have such low standards.

she trained rogue, pyro, and was in da brotherhood of evil mutants, which in their view, was doing a service to mutants... clearly not to da level of da movies..but ehh? there's bigger bones to pick.

Def amel and itsabout time

But when youre going in to a movie expecting the worst u tend to oick it apart more. No one is forcing you to like it nor forcing you to watch it but alot of peoples expectations are too high and u want something that probably will never happen. And its ok to want that
But its not happening. Again no one is forcing you to say any type of opinion thats not your own.

But i mean there is a box set foe 90s cartoon if i want nostalgia again

Well amel just said why but I thought itsabouttime saw it.

I'm now reading his posts saying he's fine waiting a year or w/e When it ends up on HBO.

I can understand not being in a rush to see this movie, especially in theaters but I can't cosign hating on it without seeing how bad it is for yourself.

Like I though B'S was gonna suck but when I got dragged to see it before it started there was still a chance it could've surprised me, dashed my low expectations to the sode, and been great.

Deadpool sorta did that for me since I didn't know what to expect and don't care for the character. Movie came out being pretty good cuz it was well written and entertaining.

But yeah just hold off on hating on it. There's other things to discuss.

Some of you guys just don't understand. I doubt Apocalypse is BvS level garbage. Apocalypse could very well be decent. But so what. The X-Men shouldn't be just be a bunch of decent flicks. It should be great and that's what I'm hating more than anything else. I'm done supporting the movies until it changes hands. I could bootleg the movie but why waste my time. I'll just end up being mad that it's not great. It should blow my mind. I should be leaving the theater with a smile on my face wanting to get right back in the theater immediately. From just the talk in here alone, I know I'm not going to get that with this.

The positive reviews in this thread have actually discouraged me more than the negative reviews in this thread:

'It's not as bad as the reviews say'

'It's good but just not as good as DofP'

'If you can get over how they nerfed Apocalypse it's a well put together movie'

'It's better than the LOWER TIER marvel movies'

There's definitely more that I can't remember..

But yea, from that alone I already know I'm going to be angry watching the movie. I'm saving myself the aggravation lol.

To me the adaption was a huge stretch. Training mutants to be terrorists is one thing. Mutant and proud :x , Singer/Kinberg think of her and depicted her as a mutant Harriet Tubman, and her basically being this pioneer and seen as a mutant hero is all trash.

The blatant historical appropriation of the black struggle while barely depicting a black mutant is disgusting.

That aside it isn't written well and many have noticed JLaw is just mailing in her performances here.

To me Singer RUINED (or at least continued to ruin) a pretty dope female villain and it's all strangely cuz he followed what Vaughn set up which was bad while the version he did in the first 2 X movies was somewhat closer to the comic version (even though that was basically a mute assasin with not much of a personality).

I'm not going to go into long point by point breakdown of the film; the movie is neither bad enough or good enough to warrent that.

but I must say.

My central beef with this movies is the focus on meaningless CGI cataclysm over the stuff that makes the X-Men unqiue and special to me.

The themes of discrimination, fear, coming of age stuff, relationship drama, teen angst, school drama.

Can I have an X-men movie that?

1. 90% of takes place in the school

2. Focuses on the young adult characters in the franchise.

3. Doesn't involve wolverine.

Bruh, What you doing on Craigslist?!
I got this new very touch sensitive phone and sometimes I'm typing **** and the weirdest suggestions come as I type  It may have pulled an email from my contacts I think  I ain't even notice it.

I would call this movie highly enjoyable nonsense but it was smarter than pure nonsense

I liked the direction they went with most of the characters
