Just tell me Singer is going to leave.

I'll tell you this much, I'd rather Snyder direct all the X-Men movies as long as somebody else was writing them. **** I'd be willing to let Goyer do it.

We've roughly had like 10-12 years of Singer. I wish FOX would just ditch him.

Looks like Singer is only doing the main XMen films and XForce and New Mutants will be handled by someone else.

He claims he is taking a break from XMen films and will focus on making (ruining) the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake but he will likely return for the next installment of the main XMen film.

I want him off everything.

Probably won't happen but I want Apocalypse to under perform worse than F4. I think FOX would be forced to remove him then.

Rumors that Fox has denied (though doesn't mean it's not true just yet) about New Mutants casting

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) as Wolfsbane
Anya Taylor-Joy (Witch) as Magik

It looks like they’ll also be casting Cannonball, Sunspot, and Mirage, so they really are going for the most traditional version of the team, the first line-up, and that makes me extremely happy. You can expect James McAvoy to play a significant role in the film, which makes sense, and Alexandra Shipp, who plays Storm in this summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, will make the jump to this team as well.

Now they playing around...they better not f-up Gambit. My favorite childhood x-men.

Still got his comics and trading cards
Same here. Got a couple of OG Toy Biz action figures as Christmas gifts from family. Remy had too much damn charisma and he was from the south. :smokin (My grandparents were from Mississippi.)
gambit shouldn't even get a solo movie. Put him in an xmen movie first and see if he's garbage.
Damn. :smh:
Smh @ the Gambit slander already
This. Let the movie fail or flourish before people bury the homie Gambit.

I'm a pretty big Gambit-Stan but I agree he should just be in an X-Men movie where he can steal the show rather than get an entire solo flick. But whatever, I'll be on line for that Gambit standalone movie opening night.

JLaw had a change of tune... sadly...
“I am dying to come back,” the Academy Award winner tells Empire “I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it’s not on anyone’s shoulders."
Of course she'd say that after:

- Huge paycheck

- Basically lead role in this film

- Hunger Games ending

Finally a Stark reunion.

Deadpool was good minus one bad song and a few corny jokes.

Cleansed my pallet of BvS for sure.

Yeah I'm mad late

Really don't see why tone wise the X-Men movies can't be this good consistently. Don't gotta be rated r, with all the cursing, and blood but the energy, story, and acting were all on point.

6.8/8

to be fair, its a lot easier to pull off a story like deadpool than DOFP

not that it excuses all the other xmen movies

and I liked DOFP

Problem fox/singer is running into, the success of the actors is dictating what happens in the films and causing things not make sense

Like Jennifer Lawrence's success causing mystique's powers to change for the movie.. When rogue is right there

And what the hell she going do this lap? Like really?

Idris Elba blowing up doesn't change heimdall's role for marvel

They really should look at the success of DP and the marvel movies and realize you can be true to the comics

Sure changes can be made.. But people don't need to see everyone trotting out in all black leather in some sort of 'realistic' depiction

You can have fun with these things

That's bad casting. JLaw would make a better Rogue than Mystique.

Real problem is somebody decided to go back in time (I guess Vaughn since at the time nobody else was willing or could do a X movie) to do a movie and then Singer said lets do a movie for every decade. All of that was a waste of time.

And yeah DofP is not as easy to do as a DP origin story but that's just one reason it never should've been done especially with Singer at the helm. The studio did that cuz at that point the superhero movie landscape had changed and they needed a subtitle that had resonance with the property.

Before that the X-Men movies started off not being based on actual comic stories  There's no Magneto tries to make everybody a mutant story and they fight on the statue of ******* liberty  There are some stories where the gov't and human organizations attack the X-Men but not with Stryker and ******* his son is the mutant that can control Xavier. Also I refuse to call X3 a Dark Phoenix story. First Class was just nonsense, taking X-villains names and throwing them in to the story. I mean really now Shaw was a nazi that tormented Magneto?

All bad made up stories for the most part based on little to nothing.

2nd movie should have been magneto being the big bad guy the whole movie.. And hints to other villains

The Raven story from first class, should have been Charles' issues with his stepbrother.. Which obviously leads to juggernaut eventually

All i ask of fox is to give fassbender a movie to either carry or be the main villain in (so carry)

I enjoyed wolverine goes to japan for the first two acts. then fox forced the director to turn it into an xmen movie

what they could have.. should have done:

1) original first class - very similar to first class movie with story of professor and magneto.. instead of raven you have cain marko there as a kid

2) magneto - with government starting sentinel program, with 1st stage sentinels showing up at end.. very end you have cain marko finding the gem

3) juggernaut - more sentinels smaller stage villains showing up.. get more of the back story with X and his step brother and all that

4) omega red - colossus either gets introduced or could have a solo flick.. like with mr sinister and gambit

5) mr sinister - gambit gets introduced in this movie.. get a lot of his back story involved with sinister

6) brotherhood of evil mutants - magneto is back at the lead.. he makes small cameos with his talks with the professor and talking about stuff the government is doing with sentinels, policies and all that

7) age of apocalypse - angel is in the first movie, so we care when he shows up as one of the horsemen.. gambit was introduced last movie, so he could be another one of the horsemen

8) hellfire club

9) dark phoenix saga

10) days of future past - variations of the sentinels have been shown throughout.. government folks and various members of the team coming and going

then you intertwine solo flicks for incoming xmen (like storm and colossus).. x force.. a proper weapon x movie.. do a proper 'team x' early before omega red movie and before wolverine joins the team

I'm probably going to pass on this movie unless it gets really good word of mouth or if someone begs me to watch with him/her

It's not like BvS where there was a curiosity factor. I know what to expect from Apocalypse and I'm not feeling it.

I'm not keen on Fox being lazy and relying heavily on someone's star power. They did it for 15 years with Hugh Jackman, now they appear to want to do it with JLaw.

No thanks.

Yup.. Waiting to hear what certain folks say..

Was supposed to go see BvS on opening day.. But man some folks let me down with their reviews on that one

Also, I'm going try my best just to not post that much in this thread if I don't like the film if I end up watching it anytime soon.. I'm sure I'll watch eventually, maybe wait til a good copy is available for download

But I already got called a marvel fan boy, just for bringing up the fact ironman 3 got good reviews in the DC thread (no clue how inferring ironman 3 was bad is a sign of being a fan boy, but anyways)
