Tom Hardy is unfortunately allegedly already locked up for another DC comics role

Didn't he drop out of Suicide Squad?

Unless they're keeping this new role quiet. Must've been a better deal.

He's in for a different project. Hardy said in an interview a few months back:

“I actually got something cooking with Warner Bros. which is also a comic book, it’s a DC thing which is kind of… It’s really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean’s Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, Technicolor, Pulp Fiction…It’s a psychological f***fest, it’s absolutely awesome. It’s as if you would take Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it’s not that out there, it’s something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be f***ing awesome.”

They're saying Channing Tatum is dropping out of Gambit

http://www.thewrap.com/channing-tatum-superhero-movie-gambit-in-jeopardy-as-deal-unravels-exclusive

Figured the movie was gonna end up getting pushed way back but didn't think talks when dissolve

And I aint never had nothing against Tatum. I was indifferent to his casting but didn't see it fitting acting wise but I also don't get a Gambit solo actually working. I can understand him being one of the big stars in the 90s being why he's even getting this chance but nothing about the guy no longer interests me much unless they really focus in on the Thieves Guild vs. Assassin's Guild and him becoming King of Thieves.

If true though, someone please come through and save the X-Men from FOX. It's clear the franchise won't revert back to Marvel studios so there must be some talented and competent producer/director with a vision that can blow up this old crappy ship and get a new one on course.

I can only hope he doesn't know the exact difference and it's a Vertigo comic being adapted, one that's got nothing to do with the DC movies at all and eventually he can be out of it and go elsewhere (if he's still up for it).

I thought about Hardy being Shazam for a second, but then laughed it off.

He did his thing in Foxcatcher but yeah he really doesn't have resume for ppl to be praising his talent and skill yet.

I don't dislike dude though. Those Jump movies and cameo in This Is The End had me buying in.

Welp that $150 million budget was way too much for a Gambit movie anyway.

Tatum probably doesn't want to work with a bunch of people who wouldn't even help an old man get down the steps.

This might come off as a reach but hear me out  as far as acting talent I feel like he's comparable to someone like Brad Pitt (when he was at the stage of his career Tatum is at right now)

He might be at his best when he's playing some who is dumber than he probably is irl (Pitt in Burn After Reading, The Oceans franchise, Inglorious Bastards... Tatum in Jump Street, Magic Mike etc)

And not as good when he attempts to play a person who is smarter than he probably is irl (Pitt in WWZ, Moneyball) Can't really think of any examples for Tatum rn other than maybe Side Effects and I liked him in that

Point remains tho, it appears he has limited range but i think that's more a product of his own choices. Hopefully Q gets something good out of him in Hateful Eight

Channing lowkey aging like Leo and getting a fat *** head
