It can definitely be pulled off, I think Raimis Spiderman trilogy got a good mix of it and was well done but it is also not as easy as most think. It threads a fine line.

Trank doesn't even seem like a money grubbing director but it might have been the reported coke habits?

i feel like the best movies are the ones without pressure. it's pretty hard to find that now a days. all these movies are coming out like cookie cutters out of the press

It appears 20th Century Fox will be releasing not one, but two trailers for the highly-anticipated Deadpool movie next week. The Alberta Film Rating website has classified a 14A-rated "Trailer B" with a 2:41 running time which is just a few seconds shorter than the PG-rated "Trailer A" that was classified last weekend. Given the Marvel adaptation is said to have a Hard-R rating, it's no surprise that the studio is releasing two trailers, with one edited for green-band and the other red-band.

However, before the green-band teaser debuts with The Fantastic Four next Friday, the red-band will be broadcast on TBS (and probably simultaneously released online) on Tuesday, August 4th, when the Merc With a Mouth himself Ryan Reynolds appears on the Conan show. This is according to the late-night talk show's schedule on TeamCoco. There's small chance the trailer(s) will be released online even sooner.

Yeah I don't trust Marvel with Doom at all

Mark my words Thanos will be inexplicably sonned by the end of IW
The same way he was inexplicably sonned in Infinity Gauntlet; tricked in to using his GODlike power to become incorporeal, loses the gauntlet, a game of hot potato ensues with a few characters and the gauntlet, until Warlock undoes everything Thanos has done.

As things stand right now Marvel is the only studio that could do Doom justice.
Dude made Chronicle, which at worst is pretty good. I don't expect F4 to be terribad or even really bad

this logic is how M. Night Shyamalan keeps getting jobs
Word.

If I followed that logic, I'd still be a Singer fan cuz he directed the Usual Suspects. Hell there's a few more directors who've given the world terrible films that'd still be favored following this poor logic.

If it wasn't for Trank being young I wouldn't rate dude highly at all given he doesn't have much of a resume.

I know yall are skeptical, but I can't wait to watch F4.
I'm excited for it. I dont know if ima go thursday night or friday after work though.
I'll have my review by saturday

I don't think you can say that for sure... aside it being made by fox what do you base that opinion off of,

or better yet, what would you want it to be?
(question for everyone)

I've seen like two trailers and don't really see anything terrible about them

I've just never been interested in the F4. They're lame

^ this is what i think 90% of the people are forming the opinion on. not being interested in F4,

which is fair I understand.

but for the people who are like it's going to suck..... I just dont htink so.

I'm a FF fan. My MAIN problems are the uber young cast and the lack of emphasis on dr doom from what I've read. FF has the potential to be a franchise comic book staple. I don't see this movie being that

are you going to watch it in theaters?

or wait til you hear others opinion??

Maybe not first day but at some point I will. I just like going to the movies. I avoid ALL review until I see it for myself

Well they are going the Ultimate version, which wasn't all that good of a comic to begin with.

And if they continue in the Ultimate frame of mind Doom is gonna be pretty lame. Seems screenwriter and directors can't help but keep tying Doom in to the F4's origin and giving him random powers (that's what it looks like in the trailers which is what happened in the Ultimate universe). I can't even get a flashback scene of college years Reed telling Doom he made a mistake and then the experiment blowing up in his face and then he leaves in anger only to take over his home country?

Similar to origin story fatigue, if FOX was smart and they're not they would've had this reboot be en media res. F4 already have their powers, Dr. Doom is already ruler of Latveria, etc.

I'm a F4 fan too and I'm just beginning to think they're too much of a good comic book to be properly adapted to a movie that'd satisfy F4 fans. Whether it was movie magic not being up to par, or too much continuity, or villains they can't properly adapt there seems to always be some problem.

Channing Tatum Closes His 'Gambit' Deal (Exclusive)

The move comes despite reports that his participation in the 'X-Men' spinoff was in danger.

Channing Tatum has closed a deal to star in Gambit, 20th Century Fox’s X-Men spin-off movie.

The move, which was widely expected, contradicts reports that appeared last week suggesting the actor would exit the project after failing to come to terms with Fox.

Sources say that Tatum and the studio did hit a sensitive spot in negotiations, but such back-and-forth is a normal part of top-level talent dealmaking. The Magic Mike star's participation hardly was in any real danger because the actor already had invested quite a bit in the superhero part. Tatum has been attached to the movie (loosely then officially) as both actor and producer for a few years and even made a surprise appearance at Fox’s X-Men panel at Comic-Con in July.

One thing that needed figuring out was the extent of Tatum’s involvement in the X-Men universe. Fox sees Tatum’s Gambit, a mutant who harnesses kinetic energy, as one of the anchor characters of the X-universe, akin to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, someone who would anchor his own movies and appear in numerous others. It’s a commitment that could theoretically last more than a decade. (Jackman has been portraying Wolverine since 2000, for instance.)

Sources say that backend compensation was also a sticking point.

Rupert Wyatt, who directed Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, will direct Gambit.

Josh Zetumer penned the script for the film, based on a treatment by Gambit co-creator Chris Claremont. Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing.

I think what most would be a happy about (on NT anyways) is that Singer isn't producing.

Ever since the rumor he was out I've seen a lot of comics sites trying to convince him to stay; 20+ Gambit covers that'll convince Tatum to be Gambit in the movie, a desperate plea by some Gambit fan, Interesting Gambit stories Tatum might like, etc.

 **** was desperate and hilarious

There really is that contingent of 90s fans that love Gambit and haven't let go (like I have) and really see this as their shot to get dude in a solo movie. I'm not sure it'll be done justice though
