Car financing question - Lexus GS AWD

Best way to buy a used car and get a good deal is search in another state and drive the car home. That's what I did when I bought my current car. Makes for a good road trip in n warm weather :smokin

Nice car fam!

What is your intrest rate, monthly payment, and downpayment looking like?

Went 29 years without ever financing and I felt the pain. Banks were offering me 18%, my credit union gave me 12%. 3 down, 20 finance. 400 monthly. After a year I'll refinance to bring it down to about 300.

Haven't read the thread but damn OP it's 2015 and you're paying 12%? Anyhow, imma let you flourish. Enjoy your ride. :pimp:

It was either I go with my credit union and pay 12%, or go with the bank the dealer got to approve me at 18% and 8 down, or cash. Which would you have taken?

I mentioned before that I never financed before, always bought cash. After a year it'll look good on my credit so I can refinance down to 4-7.5%.

I feel like whether I went with this car or a cheaper car the interest wouldn't change. Why not get something I really want instead of financing something for now, probably getting complacent and never getting my dream affordable car.

bruh if u get a brand new honda accord the most theyll prolly charge is 3%

but as kanye said i wanna be on 106 & park pushin a Benz

keep shining playa i see you

12% is high as ****...

But dude said he never had any kind of credit before so i'm guessing that's all he could've gotten.

i had a buddy get a hundai genesis for 0% interest... yes.. 0% interest....

no brainer right there.

Question OP... Could you have gotten a newer car for the exact same price point w/ an interest rate of about 600 to 1000 bps lower?

My favorite car is the 3rd generation Lexus. Last year it came out was 2011. You can't find an all wheel drive, fully loaded, with less than 50k for 20k. And in white. I don't bite more than I can chew. This loan is for 5.5 years, it'll be paid off in about 3 years.

Edit - could I have gotten a newer car? Probably but why settle for something you don't want lol

Why would I ever buy brand new? I would never recommend a brand new car to anyone. Lol

people by brand new to take advantage of the low interest rate..

but i know you getting that nursing bread papi

you will pay it off no problem.

goodluck and enjoy that fam

02 mustang out the factory can push right along 200 HP.  They listed as around 192HP but i heard for underrated it. With a chip mod , posi rear end ,dual exhaust and cold air intake you can get in the upper 250's HP easily

I'm convinced you know nothing about cars. a '02 Mustang V6 was not underratted, it a slow turd. You're talking about adding a 'chip mod', posi read end, dual exhaust and intake... Make's no sense to do this to a V6 to make the same power a GT has. And a GTR is supercharged? LOL stop getting caught up in your lies.

Yea, interest sucks bubui don't switch cars every few years. I go after I want and hold on to it as long as possible.

Good to see you plan on paying it off early. If you knew you were interested in a car shoulda started building credit but you gotta start somewhere.

Ok I was beating stock 02 mustangs v8's easily, camaros v6 I was beating to but not by much. The 99-04 v8 mustangs I smoking easily. The look on their face priceless

Had a shift kit in and too so I can hold it in gear without shifting . Any gears even first

I knew at what Rpm my torque peaked so I always held the gear/horsepower peaked at that rpm. The sweet spot. Car was tuned around that rpm

Got to know how to race

True, my **** was worse. I started 2 years ago and made my score go up 100+ points, opened up the credit union last June and everyone time I got paid at Wells Fargo I'd transfer a lump sum to the credit union to make myself look good. Plan was to wait 12 months then go looking but for the past 5 I've been periodically checking the market to see what the cars were going for. Saw the price and knew they messed up. 2 days after I checked price they increased the car to $25k which was the average price I saw around. They honored the $20k. I'm still trying to figure out if they got me or I got them.

However posted Cargurus.com that is clutch! I noticed most dealerships around here price there cars using that

How would putting money into your CU account make you look good? Don't they base loans off of credit?
