Google Fiber is coming to Nashivlle

Joey's moved to elm hill pike and it is only open from 11-3 mon-fri but I overhead the owner say her uncle has a place that's open on the weekends somewhere in Nashville. As far as google fiber all of you that are pissed imagine living on the outskirts of Nashville and not being able to get it. I stay literally 20 min from downtown and can't get it.

if you are wondering why nashville? it is one of the fastest growing areas with a stable housing market, no state tax, only 2 major internet providers, average income is above national average, and less politics.

Just chilling man. Getting out of town for a day or two is always welcomed. It only takes 2 hours tops (with traffic) to get there, so the wife and I go up there when we can. All we really do is shop and eat because the 3-yr old always comes lol. But we just enjoy the vibe there...thinking about moving up there since the wife can easily get a job at the Vandy Med Center.
Man, if you're coming to Nashville, pizza isn't really anything special here. If you want something specific to Nashville get some hot chicken. The most accessible place and arguably the best place is Hattie B's. It's near Vandy.

Didn't realize Joey's had moved, went by their old spot and thought it closed.

On Topic: Looks like it's a 2 year time table to get it up and running. I wonder if I'll even be in Nashville to experience it.
Trust me breh, the pizza there HAS to be better than the pizza here.

Every time I hit up a bigger city, I check for pizza.  A lot of NYers and east coasters in general seem to dip and move to the bigger southern cities to set up shop.  Some of the best NYC-style pizza I've ever had was in Memphis of all places.

Stoked that my City is getting this, especially since AT&T doesn't cover this part of the lake in CLT. I despise Timewarner..$60 a month for snail like speeds. Read the article today in The Observer. Gimme dat...

Really hoping I make the move to Nashville by the end of this year or start of next. Had a couple interviews and one offer but they didn't offer me enough where I could afford living there. But this is great news

rent is super cheap here. A person making $9 a live easily...actually a person making $9 hour can live any where ecept cali dc and new york

So you saying with what they offered you, you couldnt afford living there, sound like a cop out

I'm trying to live downtown though lol. It's a huge price difference from Huntsville. My friends just moved up there and living in East Nashville now and they love it.

@superb what part of the ville you from?
I stay in Brentwood, but use to live in Antioch. Still go to antioch alot to hit those bars like Kats and bailys....man I wish Cirok was back open

Haven't been to Helen's since it opened while I was away at school and didn't get a chance to go while I was on break. Prince's isn't bad, but I don't think it's the best. People go there cause it was first. I rarely go there due to the service being super slow and it being far from where I live.

My sister stay near symrna and she will get it. Symrna is like 35 mintues from downtown

And everything I quoted is so true, especially the politics
I'm making 90k a year. Im struggling here in the bay.
As i stated , Cali is an exception where it is not affordable

yea east nashville is going through gentrification right now and some of north nashville.

You better have some big bank rolls to live downtown. with all the new construction, condos, and how they are modernize downtown, its going to get even higher (rent)

You too, huh? Just imagine not having to travel to see good shows.

I'm looking at concerts there in the next few months and I'm seeing Stevie, Polica and Toro y Moi. Sucks knowing I'll have to probably choose 1 because of the hassle of taking time off to travel.

Near nipper's corner and brentwood, so south nashville. I'm not in town much due to school.
I stay in brentwood

Yezzir.

I travel to Huntsville often to go to the strip clubs there since they are pretty open and get naked unlike Nashville 6 feet rule and they have to stay covered

Go to Hangout., Toro y Moi will be there and you get to chill at the beach

Which is weird to me, because I work (quitting soon) for 3 letter ISP/cable company whose headquarters is in Atlanta, but they can't even have their service there

What kind of upload/download speeds is Google Fiber promising? I know previously mentioned employer is rolling about Gigabit residential speeds in more locations.

You talking bout COX? They're headquarters or at least 2 of their buildings are right next door to my building. (trying to get hired up in there but don't work in tech field)

Google Fiber is gigabit

LOOk? I dont just look..lol

But the strips clubs is garbage here. 6 feet rule meaning we cant go withing 6 feet of stripped s and strippers cannot at all even be naked.. Its just stupid. private dances are hands off clothes on. There is a line around the strip club that patrons cant even cross.I dont go to strip clubs much but sometimes I go to have some fun when its nothing else to do.

Huntsville is totattly diffrent

@JaysRcrak   Never heard of Bellacino.

Damn G for real? They are mostly known for their steak grinders but the pizza is good too.

How long you been in Nashville?
A few years back a former employee and two other men murdered another employee in a botched robbery attempt, at the White Bridge Rd location.
Since then they closed that location, and only take credit/ debit cards. There is still one in Cool Springs and one on Lebanon Rd.
