looks like prices scared folks away. btwn this and the dj collab, what do you guys think about high prices and/or lots of inventory as a potential next step in combating resale? not saying that's what's going on but think it's an interesting this to discuss
I think whoever wanted the jacket, went for it. I don't really think money is the issue. There's been pieces that retailed at higher prices and still sold out.

The guy I spoke to in the Supreme section of DSM said it best "some collabs are only for people who are really into the brand like the DJ Collab and some collabs are mainstream like the Yankees and Foamposites collab". I honestly think it's great to have a ton of stock everyone can get what they but want at the same time you can alienate the whole point of the brand which is to get exclusive clothing that not too many people have. The only person left out in the cold is the resellers but the crazy part is resellers are an essential part to the game too. Imagine if the DJ collab was reselling for hundreds of dollars it would change the perception of the whole collab there would be a bunch of people in here begging for help on how to cop etc. Just look at Frags the shoe is $185 or whatever but if anyone here copped a pair for $450 we would all consider that a steal. If they were selling for $200 no one would give a damn about them except the core fans...

18thcomplex 18thcomplex You make a great point. What bothers me though, is the fact that resellers are eating up EVERYTHING Supreme puts out right now. I would honestly just prefer if they only went after the most highly hyped/profitable items. I wouldn't even mind that because they can flip it for a pretty fair profit. That's reasonable. What I hate is the fact that dudes are buying up stuff like boxers and keychains just to turn around and flip them for a $10 profit. That's the part I can't come to grips with :smh:

@PriceBoy00 it's not only resellers though. Good resellers do know what's worth going after and what's not... The brand is growing every year while retaining their core fan base. I see 40-50 year old dudes still rocking Supreme while at the same time I see 9-10 year olds making their first purchase. There are some kids who got parents that got them into Supreme. They hardly ever lose customers some dudes may not cop anything for 2-3 seasons then jump back in again. It's crazy man they are the only street wear brand that I see with this kind of Loyalty. There motto is "F*ck you we do what we want" which is why 21 years later they still got lines around the blocks for their drops. That's what's so dope about Supreme. I would put them up there with Apple and Nike as far as brand loyalty goes but on a smaller scale. It is necessary for them though to operate on that smaller scale though. If it was sold in Pac Sun and Zumiez it would kill their core fan base just look at Diamond Supply yeah it's selling but their core fan base has been gone... Then they got kids who read that Complex article and the Unique Hype article and think their gonna make $100,000 flipping it. Those people come and go every season though once they see how hard it is to achieve that. It doesn't matter though because at the end of the day Supreme is laughing all the way to the bank on everything and next season we'll all be waiting for Thursday at 11AM...

Well said complex. Take my reps.

Not only do I enjoy the material and creativity they put out but I can't deny that there exclusivity is a major aspect of why I buy it in the first place.

And it lets you meet and network with some of the dopest people who are into the culture.

After the pelicans blew that 20pt lead last night and cost me a bet.
