So word on the street is, JB is cutting off mom and pops stores in July.

more and more resellers R in cahoots with mom and pop stores. I know of one mom and pop store that sells their entire stock to a reseller that owns a store which sells them back for double the price. It makes me sick to walk by the store in a popular mall.I just have a dislike for these type of resellers. I have the coin to pay for mine or my son's but I coach a lot of kids that cant do it. It is hard enuf for them to come up with the legit price let alone paying 100 dollars over price.sometimes we forget others are not as blessed as we are.

I think they should just enofrce the stores to keep the retail prices as well as make sure they don't sell early.
excercise some thought thinking. they aren't gonna police that... why would they?

for some reason this reminds me of the story of the mom and pop shop here who got the tiff dunks and didn't know what they were, sold out immediately, and then proceeded to give half off on all dunks for the rest of the day because they felt bad.

 idiots.

"do you guys still have tiff dunks?"

"no, we sold out very early.... we're very sorry. we feel bad, so for the rest of the day we are doing half off of all dunks."

"hahahahahahaha why??"

you know how much money they gave up for no reason??

this has been going on for the past 2 to 3 years

nike will tell the retailer to update their store and keep to a release date for shoes

nike will not pay attention to the store keeping up with the release date but nike will ask or even make the retailer update their shop for a move "upscale boutique experience"

if you dont update the store or keep up on payments

nike will drop the account

This is a good move on Nike's part. I think a good number of these "mom and pop's stores" are resellers. Now, if only there was a way to prevent big chain employees from securing their pairs before RD and play fair...

I think it's a good move by them. A shop near me got the cigar/champagne 6's but only sold them as a pack and also charged an extra $100 for each shoe which made it $700.

its not going to change the prices, now jordan will be able to charge 300 for retros and 6 bills for packs..

it also not gonna stop places like nikelab selling their whole stock to ig famous resellers.

nothing to help the consumer here...

EXACTLY....NikeLab will continue to be the only stores that Nike knowingly allows these back door deals to happen. It just is what it is! And the "urban" consumer days of shopping at M&P stores are long gone. The shift happened years ago and now Jordan is taking that $2B biz to new heights and the hood is no longer at the forefront. Sorry fellaz. Those black Jordan exec Bamas all are about that dough...it's business not personal!

I just hope eblens is considered a chain and not a mom and pop since they have around 20 locations.

If Nike is looking to make things fair and cut off corrupt retailers they can cut off Shoe Palace immediately.

Yeah, nike is gonna sent a private detective to each store to patrol. Get real. They don't care what these stores do.

There will be nothing wacker than strollin into these stores seeing nothing but Roshes and Adidas.....

Good. No more resellers getting full size runs from their "plug". No more back dooring. More pairs online. This is good.
From what I've read that was the main thing.

Nike, JB did not like those pics on instagram and FB  of FSR's or multiple FSR out of the trunk of a car or suv or a kia or whatever losers drive.

Personally I feel like employees should be able to secure pairs for a release, just one each though or even raffle off a few pairs between themselves. I feel like if they are dealing with 2-300+ people week in and out signing up for raffles they should be able to have pairs reserved esp for GRs or limited GRs.

Now truly limited kicks or QSs they should have to enter a raffle with everyone.

They Def be sending ppl to stores, I kno that for a fact, they got a store in Baltimore

I think store employees getting first pick is a good thing. They work a min wage job and sometimes have to deal with the worst customer service. It's one of the very few perks of the job because it's Retail. So yeah I see nothing wrong with employees getting first dibs on a pair. They've earned it and it's just a benefit. If that rubs you the wrong way I have a feeling you never worked a similar type job.

No thats not necessarily true
nike wants a few and only a few stores in urban areas but nike wants the retailer to update the customer's retail shopping experience at cost of the store.

so if you don't have the money to update the store your just going to be dropped

A few mom and pop boutique type shops around the country have opened up in the past 2 years.

As long as your business is going good and your paying future orders 6 months in advance and your shop is more like a showroom you will be in business with nike

Nah. The chains have to buy a certain percentage of the crap NIke product to get the retro J's and other sought after items. Nike's using them to their advantage.

Just because they're doing that now, doesn't mean they will continue to do so in the future. Business tactics always change..

There's one spot in the ("luxury") mall out here that sells everything Nike at retail. They still have Toro 4s in 2 sizes left since the summer. 1/10 people know about the store, which makes it easy for me. Even split the CDPs when they came out. RIP

Hook me up with the Toros size 11

I'm thinking that's probably what happened to my shop too.  It's a shame how things are now.
Na these M&P shops did this to themselves.  They let greed distort their vision of treating their loyal customers good.  Instead of letting a loyal customer reserve a pair, they let them reserve a pair with a reseller mark up.  Instead of letting a loyal customer buy 1 pair, they let them pay mark up and buy FSR's.

I feel bad for the ones that played by the rules over the years, but those greedy ***** ruined things and it's their own fault

I honestly don't think ALL of them will stop getting J's.... pretty sure some will keep their contracts but only time will tell
