So word on the street is, JB is cutting off mom and pops stores in July.

No more Mom & pops stores be getting J's here in my area. This store 40 min away from me used too get retro's all the time

but haven't gotten a retro since the XIII/XV CDP. I'm all for all these M&P stores getting there accounts taken away, I mean all I ever hear or read on here

is how scandalous these stores are too they're community, customers.

I don't like this. From my own personal experience I've seen more bull **** from bigger chain stores I.e. Footlocker and finish line.
The lil mom and pop store down the street has been the most legit retailer for the past couple releases that I've seen. Guess it's a very subjective topic.

And the good ones are the people I feel bad for

To most of us, this is a blessing.. The shady M&P shops and the re-sellers that relied on them will take the biggest hit.

More pairs allocated to the majority of us.  Thank you Nike.

Nike expanded their warehouses for a reason.  It makes a lot of sense now.

They know a lot of them are going out the back door, over retail and they're selling them early.

This might help, but definitely won't stop the problem of shoes getting sold early and/or FSR's ended up online/instagram/etc...

I doubt they will cut them all off, especially at the same time.. However it will probably start shifting to only those stores that have been doing things the right way and for a long time that wlll get to keep thier JB account status..

Will wait and see what else happens.. :nerd:

It's not going to fix all the problems but it will help.  It's also a good move for nike to get more of their product  Nike.com where they make all the money.  Remember Nike gets $100 for a $200 shoe, this way they get to keep all $200, while cutting out some of the shade

There's one spot in the ("luxury") mall out here that sells everything Nike at retail. They still have Toro 4s in 2 sizes left since the summer. 1/10 people know about the store, which makes it easy for me. Even split the CDPs when they came out. RIP
toro ivs still there? they came out 18 months ago

they manager at my local store told me last year about their shop is gonna stop selling retros in july.  its a bummer.  that was my spot for retros and now i have to go to a big chain and get in a raffle or come on sunday for a ticket. the mom and pop shop i went to was first come first serve. yeah, they treated some folks differnetly and sold some in the back door but aye i got my pairs when i needed them.  only thing they made people do on the release is you have to buy an article of clothing at retail price. no biggie, gotta have something to match anyways. so, i never had an issue. but yeah, those stores that do sell early and do some BS transactions should be banned from selling, dont make everyone that sells retros a bad guy. but its cool. nike does what they do to protect their products.

WOULDNT BE SURPRISED IF IT ACTUALLY MEANT LESS PAIRS… THE ASSUMPTION IS MORE PAIRS AT CHAIN STORES… BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WITH SHADY NIKE/JB

the mom and pop stores round my way are turning into boutiques so they will still carry them

the only reason i dont care for these mom n pops losing their account is cuz some not all overcharge on the GRs which is OD... so good riddance

All this means is there will be more pairs for NT and FL to hook up their buddies and fam.

Retros are really going to be sought after now, this is not good at all

What are you talking about?  Like I said earlier, I feel bad for the legit mom and pop shops, but getting rid of the scummy ones is nothing but a good thing.

What's funny, is that back in the day, these "mom and pop" shops made nike, without them, nike wouldn't be as big as they are......with the growth of technology and social media, nike is just cutting the "middle man" out, more or less. It is very unfortunate for mom and pop shops, and this just goes to show you, no one is loyal, there is no loyalty when it comes to money. The bottom line is, nike will make much more by just selling off of their site and shipping directly to the customer. Also, a lot of these shops were mandated by nike to "fix up" the store, i'm sure a lot of them spent thousands of dollars to do so, and now, are getting f'd in the butt.....just sad.

not just some of them, majority of them charge extra and sell early. even the best of the best like to upcharge on a really limited sneaker.

Yup and speaking of loyalty, it was very nice of these mom and pop shops to rip off their loyal customers after years of supporting them because they wouldn't have been around at all without us.  Of course backdooring pairs, selling above MSRP, and making their loyal customers buy a clothing to be eligible to purchase shoes is alright.

The bottom line is this gives me a little bit of a better chance of copping a shoe I want without any shade.

But, I always thought the "hood spots" got their supply and inventory from third party vendors why they could charge and release them whenever they want.  That's what my mans over on Graham Ave told me back in the day when the Military 4's first came out back in 2006, and people were coping 2 months before RD

you're right, but if you think you'll have a better chance of copping without any shady business, you're wrong, every retailer has shadiness going on, i'm sure you already know.
