My girls been annoying me to learn how to make sushi. I don't really know how to cook anything and I do like sushi a lot myself, so figured why not learn how to.

There's a lot of tutorials and recipes on the internet, but idk which to pick from. If anyone here can make it themselves, maybe you can share your recipe and tips you can give from experience.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me on the path to having my first specialty dish

Nah because I'd be pissed off the whole time trying to figure out how to make perfect rice. I know myself well enough to not get addicted to perfecting sushi.

Rice is the most important part of sushi.
Second is the fish and the cut.

Sushi chefs *the real ones* trains decades to master their craft.

But if you dont really care. I'm sure you can just get Japanese short grains and sushi ready sashimi and make it yourself.

I make my own sushi sometimes, and yes, it takes a lot of practice and failures to get it right.

I was terrible at the rolling part. After a while I gave up and made spicy tuna rice bowls. Tasted good.

using the right rice and cooking it properly is the most important part

I just buy cuts of sashimi grade fish. Occasionally I will buy the pre-made sushi from the Japanese markets around here.

besides the actual fish, its all about the rice and rolling it tight.
