Official Nike KD VIII (8) Thread - "Easy Euro" OCTOBER 17th!!

Eh...I don't care much for the lateral side. And I don't know why they got stick-on swooshes, it looks off. But at least they tried something different and utilized the flyweave. If they make it to discount I might cop later on. The $200 price wasn't appealing either...$180 is already pushing it for the 8.

N7 still reigns supreme IMO.

Guess they realize they made a mistake? Was good for a solid hour or so. I'm sure they will be discounted better than that price later haha

Finally got a chance to hoop in mine.  I like them so far.  Comfy, good fit, good traction.  I can see why people hate on them though...they aren't a $180 shoe and they aren't appealing to wear off the court.  I got mine on sale from FTL with an extra 20%.  Great shoe to hoop in.

I remember trying on the Independence pair on release day and  compared them to the Kobe X.  I noticed that the KDs should be priced around $155 to match the feel of them.  MSRP is what made me hesitate and I still want to try them on court.  I'm only interested in the Naughty and Nice and Blackouts.  Will wait for a discount, though.

I think $155 would be a perfect retail price.  I still think I'd wait to cop on sale though. Hahahaha.  $180 just for any shoe is too steep.  I don't think any of the signature lines should be that high because I have heard that the performance on all of them isn't ground breaking.  They (LBJ, Kobe and KD) have their own tech advantages, respectively but it isn't something we haven't seen before.  We've seen lunarlon, full length zoom air and those zoom air pods already.  I remember in the mid-90s when the uptempos came out with the fully visible air max bag everyone went nuts because it was something new and it was a shoe that "sky rocketed" to $150.  When the foamposite first came out, it was new and people were saying it was the first $200 shoe (tax included).  The KD 8 is a great shoe...and I love my pair so far, but I can see why people aren't buying.  Hopefully they hit the clearance rack because I wouldn't mind another pair for super cheap. Haha.

I wouldn't mind grabbing another pair on clearance.  It makes me wonder what Nike is going to do.  The sigs keep getting more expensive but the tech doesn't match the price.  You have UA who is putting out a great performing sig for $130.  If their goal is to put out sigs for the consumer to grab on sale then I don't know what their goal is haha.  I don't see myself grabbing the KD 9 at $180 either... even if it is a great performer, I just don't see it pushing great numbers.

Yeah, I'm definitely waiting for clearance pricing.  Especially, since I've seen some colors drop to sub $100, this holiday season.  I know a couple people that bought and played in Curry 2's and they love them aside from a couple things.  The tongue being too stiff was a major complaint as well as the tread being affected on a not completely wiped down floor.  I haven't had any issues with "dusty" floors in any of my Kobe IXs or Xs.  I never have to wipe them down.  They're like glue.
