The back sticking out the way it does.....dealbreaker. Aesthetically its terrible, and functionality wise??? Im pretty sure people will have horror stories about their heels being stepped and suffering from injury and/or shoe separates because of poor QC

Huge fan of KD and iv collected and kept a huge number of his shoes deadstock since the KD III.
Was not a fan of the look of the V but they turned out to be the best by far for playing ball in.
Hated the VI and still say it's a horrible ball shoe but still have 20+ pairs deadstock.
But these 8's I just can't make the turn at all, just the worst. Reds are the better out if the 2 but that's only as them USA are just terrible.

I will pass on the USAs. Still intrigued by the reds. Will consider picking up a pair if they get good performance reviews. That heel extension is worrisome from a performance standpoint...

I understand that a balance is always preferred between looks and something that plays well.  What bothers me is when someone immediately calls a performance shoe trash that could be one of the best to hoop in (not saying we know these are).

The only thing that can save this shoe is the performance review. It might not look great casually, but it has potential to be a baller shoe.

Since my balling is to a minimum now i plan to buy mainly for casual use and these i cant really feel me wearing casually. I think ill just wait till the exts to show and if they're not for me then ill be passing on the 8s all together unless they're performance beast then ill cop one pair on disco

I think these will be nice to hoop in with the woven upper kinda like the Kobe 8 EM upper. Hated the plastic hyperfuse upper the KD had from IV-VI since it would pinch into my toes and cause blisters.

If I was looking at these shoes from a distance, I've just made a 180 degree turn and now am facing completely away from these and running the opposite direction......

Really really wanted to give it a chance at least for the performance aspect, but no way am I going to wear that....

I want performance first and looks second since I only wear basketball shoes for playing basketball. If these get an excellent performance review, then I will eventually pick up a pair.
