Official Nike KD VIII (8) Thread - "Easy Euro" OCTOBER 17th!!

Seriously.... who is designing these colorways?
sick.gif

The red one I originally torched is looking good and everything else so far is looking trash
They aren't as bad as the 7's though.

Quality is just as bad, probably worse.

Saw the 4th CW in store Saturday.

Man they need to be slapped for that upper.

And when you turn it upside down and look at it, the inner middle has like a 2inch indention in it.

Just looking for a little info/help here from anybody who has the 8 and then past models.

Can anyone give me there opinion of how the fit is in the 8 in terms of size, how they lace up & tightness around ankle!

My true to size is a UK 12. Near enough all my shoes are 12 & I play in 12' if I wear Kyrie 1 or KD 5.
But then with the KD 6 & 7 not sure if it's with them being low neither of them 2 models laced up tight at all. Never tied up tight across foot and couldn't pull laces any tighter to get a good lock down. Foot always slipped and moved side to side even with my usual 2 pairs of socks to play in. Ankle never felt tight either.

So I tried going down to a 11.5 in the KD 6 & 7. This was then loads better & laced up tight. The problem was fixed.

So my concern is with this 8 being a low will the same problem be there of not feeling snug / tight / locked down if I go TTS again and buy the 12 this weekend. Or would the 11.5 then feel to small with me reading & hearing these are already tight along foot.

Shoe I play in now is various colourways of the Kyrie 1 and love them all pairs are my tts 12.

Sorry for such a long and daft post but just wanting some help as looking to buy V8 on Saturday when they drop, if I had the cash if buy both and see what feels best but do t have that luxury.

If you plan on ordering online, I'd say just go to your local sneaker shop and try the shoe on before Saturday, they will have it, problem solved.

If only it was that easy.
I'm in the UK, you will NEVER see a basketball shoe in store haha no joke.

Football (soccer) boots & shoes.
Air max.
Vans.
Hurache.
That's what our sports or shoe shops sell.
:frown:

Yep, unless you live in London or Manchester it's a nightmare getting hoop shoes in store!

Nightwing makes it sound like he's the best basketball player in the world with how in depth his reviews are, but then you see a video of him playing a pickup game...

The only reliable people are kickgenius and mr foamer simpson.
What are he credentials of those you have recommended? Do any of them have a background in sports medicine?

Why is that?

I do not think that the man is giving basketball advice, he is simply giving his opinion of the shoe.

He's giving a performance review based on his ability to perform. His ability to "perform" is hilariously bad. It's like taking long distance running shoe performance advice from a person who couldn't jog a mile.

He can have his opinion all he wants, we don't have to respect it.

Cue up that "performance" video they made for the kobes. They might as well had the shoes on and played patty cake

I would recommend same as what you wore in KD7, both feel pretty similar size/fit wise to me.

Okay, I understand that you are judging him on his performance as an athlete, but that does not negate his opinion on a pair of shoes. Secondly, if you yourself cannot play as well as he does, then you are invalidating your own opinion of him, due to those standards that you are using.

I do not know the guy, I was just wondering if any of these so called reviewers have any background in Sports Medicine, which would be far more precise, and really HONEST, in regard to what a good shoe is, especially if any of these reviewers are to be taken seriously. Understanding biomechanics, then being able to explain how a shoe should work, is an even better barometer than a person being able to perform to a certain standard while on court.

As per your suggestion on watching the vid, I didn't, and then don't, like any of Kobe's shoes either, especially the most recent iterations of his lows, which I would preferably wear to play tennis, or even going to the grocery store, but never on a basketball court. I understand that pro players have to take extra precautions by having themselves taped before every game, with many wearing custom insoles in their shoes. But I personally cannot take the risk of wearing a low cut minimalist shoe, playing against recreational players who are not aware of their own bodies, you know, clumsy guys. I need as much protection as I can get.

I'd give his shoes a thumbs down as well.

This shoe, the KD, I have no experience in, but Nightwing has given out some excellent details about the shoe, far better than simply a video of him dunking in the shoe, or dribbling like an idiot, then saying that the shoes are fantastic.

Don't mind me, I am not arguing with you either, I just like details better than flash.

The hell? KD himself doesn't have a background in sports medicine. Guess his opinion of the shoes doesn't matter as much as this guys

Yeah, ok

Yeah, ok
Kevin Durant also has not worn the last two iterations of his shoe, spoke fondly of both during the promotions, and you are going to use him as a barometer in regard to what a good shoe is?

Perhaps if Durant had someone  qualfied to pull his coat on what a good shoe is, he would have worn those that were supposedly made for him, a bit more successfully.

He's going to saying nothing but good things because he's contractually obligated to sell the shoes

My point is Im not respecting the advice of someone who can't ******* play basketball when is comes to basketball oerformace of anything. A 10 year old can tell be what the shoes are made out of and if the traction is sticky.

Go watch that Kobe review video for the sake of seeing this guy in action. you'll get a laugh if anything

We're going to have to agree to disagree at this point

But wasn't it YOU who brought up Kevin Durant and his opinion of the shoes?

Also, let me clear, because perhaps I was not in the above post. At your behest I did watch the video, and while he is not the greatest athlete, that does not mean that he is not informed in regard to what a shoe is supposed to do, especially when a company tries to sell their merchandise on "tech". Does the "tech" work? You do not have to be able to jump over someone's head while running like a deer, to be able to tell me something like that.

But hey, what do I know? I think that intelligence should not be underrated.

Kd's opinion of the shoe is NOT the same as having to market the shoe for sales  that's pretty self explanatory. In either case because kd isn't into sports medicine all of a sudden his opinion of a shoe used to play a game he's arguably the best in the world at isn't as good as NW?

And KD stopped wearing his latest shoes due to his foot problem and the need for different inserts which fit better for him in his older shoes. So that point is out the window

I'm convinced you're arguing just because it this point.

..... ****** him up...... I honestly enjoy nightwings reviews and I don't understand why people think being good at basketball correlates to analyzing a shoe's performance..... They have NO correlation. And if you really don't like his reviews make your own. Do a better job then. Not cool to bash a content creator when your doing nothing yourself.

No correlation? LOL

Test out a race car and only go 30miles an hour. Is that review respectable?

You guys "enjoy" his review but also enjoy when people post videos wearing skinny jeggings, spinning in circles telling you what color everything is like a preschool video. Can't take critiques seriously

"Make a better video". LOL, hope you don't dislike anything you're not willing to go out an do yourself if that's your argument. Horrible counter point
