Official Nike KD VIII (8) Thread - "Easy Euro" OCTOBER 17th!!

Just thought I would throw this nugget out there. Through the first 2 days of organized team summer workouts, there are 3 OKC Thunder players wearing the New KD 8s.

However..KD is not one of them. He is wearing the KD TREY 5 3. So no, this is not earth shattering, or really even news worthy...but I do think it will be interesting to see what he wears during the season.
 
For those who purchased this shoe do you guys think it was worth the 30 dollar price increase?

Not sure what nike is thinking these days. Seems more like they care about justifying price increase than making performance shoes
 
I wore them to compare to the viis and no they aren't worth the increase. The durability of the flyweave(although I still can see it ripping) over mesh is a plus. The hyper posite made the vii and justified the increase from the vi. If the 8s retained the hyper posite then maybe. The fact the articulated zoom does not have good cushioning is a letdown. The flexibility of the articulation is welcomed though but not a big thing the vii flex was good enough for me.

They dont have good cushioning? Do they feel hard?

I thought the cushioning sucked when I tried them on. It's like a super firm cushion.
Not soft like the kd7.

Not sure if it needs to break in or not but yeah it's stiff out the box. Low to the ground you won't get the pillow cushion like the VIIs even after break in time.

The V8's are cool (I have a thing for all red shoes)...but are we ever going to get an actual colorway that goes with the team that KD plays for?? Whatever happened to making shoes that go with the team colors???? I understand the hype for crazy colors, but man, at least drop some in the team colors.

That's what Nike ID is for. That's Nike's intent. For guys like us that want team colors to spend more money on Nike ID.

We're still 3 months away from "go time" for the 2015/2016 NBA season. They'll release the "away" colorway in coordination with the start of the season.

I went to thin socks and it only got worse.

I can't manage in these at all man. Strictly for looks now.
