One of those songs that if I come across it on the radio, I gotta let it play out...

This dude Bruno Mars [Monta Ellis] Have it all [/Monta Ellis]

RIDICULOUSLY talented....I gained a new appreciation for him after his SB performance last year. New king of pop, I guess.

i need to check out the  Mark Ronson album, the song he has with Mystikal is dope too

i didn't even know the album was out already

Someone school me on the songwriting credit....all I found was that Ronson sampled some of "all gold everything."

Bruno Mars makes music with a classical feel to it. Don't love all his music but he is talented for sure

Took my daughter to Bruno Mars concert last year. Very impressed. Puts on a good show and is talented as can be. Went out the next day and bought both albums.

I like the song and video, but he straight jacked Trinidad James on this.

what? Someone jacking Trinidad James' style? The irony...
I damn near spit out my coffee when I read that.

I can't even pretend to dislike Bruno anymore.
Felt this way since Unorthodox Jukebox. That album is just great music man. He's got incredible vocals and the music is unique to him. Locked Out of Heaven, Moonshine, Treasure, and Natalie are awesome records. Moonshine I actually need to revisit. Gets looped in my head all day. Such a deep, relaxing feel.

Once If I Was Your Man dropped I realized Bruno wasn't another cookie cutter, baby faced pop star. This man is for real. I hope he's around for a while.

This song is great. Will be a classic dance track for years to come. The album pretty good too. About 70% cool. I wish it was all danceable like this, but the songs that are go hard.

Bruno is definitely one of better LEGIT musicians on the radio right now. He's a genuine performer and believe it or not, he writes his own music. He did one of the most amazing tributes in 2011 when Amy Winehouse passed. If you get a chance to see him live, definitely go check him out.

Bruno is easy money. You can pen him in for good music with every release at this point. This joint is no dif.

When this track comes on in the club, women lose their damn minds. I love it.

You know what...in thinking about it, I believe you're right. Uptown Funk, to me, has some staying power. It should be a song that gets good spins YEARS down the road.

It incorporates elements from influential funk musicians from the 70s/80s but gives it a little modern day twist. Older people can instantly relate and the younger generation has a fresh sound. Everyone wins. This should be a classic party song across the board.

You hit the nail on the head. That's the beauty of the song.

He killed it at the SB last year, but can you imagine if he had Uptown Funk in his arsenal? Would have been epic to see this live in NY.

I would love for someone to explain how him saying "Don't believe me just watch" is sampling that song. I'm being serious, it's very different. I could see if it was used with the same beat or the same chorus but that's crazy.

I took my lady to see Bruno Mars last year and I was blown away by his show. It reeked of Michael Jackson and I mean that as a compliment. The dancing, vibe, clothing, lights. Me and my girl still talk about this show often. Both of his albums are great and he has one of the best voices you'll ever hear. Not only does he have a voice, he's a student of the game. With all his different samples and sounds. he's definitely on to something special.

they used lyrics from his song....  the same reason Drake had to pay Rappin 4tay 100k

artist use bits from other songs all the time but I think in this case since

Trinidads lyrics were used in a major part of this song and not just in passing, Ronson saw fit to give him credit

I knew this song would blow up the moment I heard it... I posted the track in the R&B thread back in November. Ronson & Mars channel Morris Day & The Time like a muva in this song... I wish Bruno would've had Morris Day, Jerome, Jimmy Jam, & Terry Lewis make a cameo in the video. That would've been sooo dope...

Morris Day & The Time - Jungle Love & The Bird

I didn't like the majority of the tracks on Unorthodox Jukebox but Treasure was a stand out track. Love that song. I wish he'd do more funk/R&B related tracks because that's what he best at. Some of his stuff leans a little too much on the pop side for my tastes but you gotta hand it to him. He can craft a catchy song...

The Amy Winehouse tribute Mars did at the VMAs was fire... I loved the little fancy 2 step he & his band added into their performance...
