Brooklyn gangbanger with Bobby Shmurda ties gets a 98-year sentence for murder, conspiracy, assault

See you next century.
A judge doled out a whopping 98 1/3-year prison sentence Tuesday to a Brooklyn gangbanger with ties to rapper Bobby Shmurda.
Rashid Derissant, 24, a member of GS9, was slapped with the almost century-long sentence, a tally of consecutive prison terms on gang-related charges including conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and assault.
Derissant fatally gunned down a 19-year-old rival in a Brooklyn bodega in February 2013 and he tried to kill three others in the same incident, according to the office of Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.
In July 2014, he shot a 22-year-old woman, an innocent bystander, in the neck and hip, prosecutors said.
Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, is expected to be tried for the same conspiracy in September.
Well said.. Why snitching at an all time high. This is one of two outcomes when you live that lifestyle. Play a ground man game, you have to handle grown man consequences
Sounds just about right for what he did. As for Bobby I think the only charge that will stick is that gun charge which he's already got time served for. Lil homie just gotta wait for his final court date and he should be back to the New York streets delivering that hot garbage soundBrooklyn gangbanger with Bobby Shmurda ties gets a 98-year sentence for murder, conspiracy, assault

Couldn't find any info regarding if he has any prior's, So if this is in fact his first charge, According to that defense team's information up there and all the other information available that says he is facing 15 years then he is most likely facing a Second Degree Class C Weapons charge which at the minimum is 3 1/2 years. He's already done 2 years and his trial has been pushed back to Sept. so that will be 3 years as time served. He might be looking at 6 months after his trial is over. I was off by a few months.http://www.queensdefense.com/nyc-criminalpossessionweapon
In New York criminal possession of a weapon, for the purposes of "gun cases" is classified into three "degrees" or levels of seriousness. Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Third Degree, and Fourth Degree.
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree is a class C felony, Third Degree is a class D felony, and Fourth Degree is a class A misdemeanor.
The class C felony is punishable by a maximum of 15 years in prison, the D felony by a maximum of 7 years in prison, and the A misdemeanor by a maximum of 1 year in jail. Also, there is a theoretical 1 year mandatory jail sentence on any felony gun conviction.
Potential Sentences
The potential sentences, especially for violent offenses in New York, are frequently vastly higher than what most people imagine.
Here are some common felonies and potential sentences for FIRST ARREST defendants (people who have never been arrested EVER)
robbery in the first degree = 5 year mandatory minimum - 25 year maximum
robbery in the second degree = 3 1/2 year mandatory minimum - 15 year maximum
assault in the second degree = 2 year mandatory minimum - 7 year maximum
burglary in the second degree = 3 1/2 year mandatory minimum - 15 year maximum
criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree = 3 1/2 year mandatory minimum - 15 year maximum
Good work bNo doubt. But I did a little homework on this
