Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

I just cranked out seasons 1 and 2 of breaking bad so I can remember the entire plot and characters leading up to Saul. I feel like a dirtbag wasting 2 days :smh:

I was wondering this as I watched the second episode, is it critical to have watched BB if you are going to watch BCS? I don't think so so far, but having watched BB definitely will make BCS much more enjoyable.
not critical, but definitely makes it better

It really is a sign of how obsessed I became with breaking bad that I instantly recognized what was going on in the opening scene of BCS.

Walt and Saul at the shop is such a powerful moment in the series. It's the Saul Goodman "death" scene. All series long he's wearing a suit with colorful shirt, tie, and pocket square. In that final scene he's wearing a plain white button up. He's totally resigned. He dropped the line about working at Cinnabon and it was like damn man, that's it. It's as bad as seeing any of the other characters that actually got killed.

When Saul puts on that VHS it's probably the first winter since leaving New Mexico.   This leads me to believe that Walt is still alive at this time and in New Hampshire. (remember it was snowing in New Hampshire).  I'd be curious to see if they start season 5 (for example) at this point and he see's breaking news of "the death of walter white" on the news and he goes to find Jesse or something.

That would be cool.
You don't remember Jesse and Saul's last encounter do you? No way in Hell he's looking for Jesse.

Do some of y'all not remember him mentioning Cinnabon in bb?
I mean, it was over a year ago if I'm not mistaken, and I don't really remember it being that big a line. Now it looms a lot bigger but back then I just brushed over it.

Continuity is always appreciated, though. That's one thing you can count on with these guys.

oh yea - I forgot

But you know what I meant....like it will be interesting to see him turn on the tv and see breaking news "Heisenberg identified, dead"

It would tie everything together and make it like a breaking bad sequel for a few episodes.

Absolutely. Once I saw the Omaha permit I knew exactly where the scene was taking place. If it was not Saul's last scene in BB I probably would not have caught it right away. That scene was so surreal because Walt was out of options and he was basically pleading for Saul's help and he replies with “I'm not your lawyer anymore,” and that “it's over.”

Impressed with the first two episodes... the show will be able to balance the absurd/comedy along with the dramatic.

Going from a potential murder to Saul's negotiation with Tuco and how excited Tuco got.. that's going to be the fun, comedic element of the show.

I'm on board.

first two episodes were great
gotta brush up on my BB so I do not miss any references

wonder who else gonna make cameos during the show
if we get a young tweaked out jesse :nerd:

I'm sold 100%. This show is straight fire. Another thing I'm scared of though (besides a skyler white character) is the fact that Saul is SUCH a loveable character I hope he stays that way. With BB, we never really liked walter white the same way. he was a d-bag from the get go, and when things got dark in the show, it was no big deal. I just HOPE that they don't turn Saul into a monster. I don't want a reason to look at him in too different of a light than what I know of him from BB.

Basically, I hope they don't make him too dark and twisted like walter white and pink man.

No way dude.

I was Team Walt all series long .. the goat :pimp:

I know we rooted for him. he was the main character. I just mean he was a despicable human being. total a-hole. not very loveable accept for his badass-ness in certain situations. Saul is not like that. he was shown to have more innocence in breaking bad. And it sucks that I'm sure we are going to be shown some dark depths that he's gonna go to in this show.

Raymond Cruz on Tuco
Interview Person:vSo I hear this might be the last of Tuco Salamanca on Better Call Saul?
Cruz: You never know. I’m not signed up for any more, but it’s all a matter of if they’d like to revisit it, and if I’m able to do it. He doesn’t return in Season 1. But I thought when I was dead on Breaking Bad it was over. To be able to come back and relive the character is an amazing experience.
